Living Faith enews: 1 May 2020
Dear Living Faith Uniting Church Family and Friends

"Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers, consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation. For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end." Psalm 48:12-14

These unprecedented times calls for new and broad perspectives on life and our faith. As I pondered this new reality, I remembered walking along the ramparts of the old city of Jerusalem. For those who may not know what ramparts are, it is the high walkway along the walls of a city or castle. The ramparts around Jerusalem gives one an incredible perspective of life inside the old city, but also what life is like outside the walls of Jerusalem. The photos above will give you some idea of what I mean.

Let us walk along the ramparts of our Christian faith. Let us look eagerly outwards to see what God has for us beyond the physical  walls of our church - out beyond our imaginations - so that we can capture some of God's plan and purpose for Living Faith Uniting Church. We do so with tremendous excitement because God is always working and seeking to draw people to Himself.

This coming Sunday 3 May, we will be partaking in communion in a way that is "outside our walls". So I want to encourage you to have your bread and juice, wine or water ready before the video service, so that we can be in common-union with each other even though we are physically apart during this sacrament. Take time to enjoy the labour of our worship team who have been recording some of our favourite songs for us as a church family to enjoy. These are accessible on our church website (instructions below).

I also want to say that I am so proud of each of you - for the way in which you reach out to each other, pray for each other and support each other. Folk contact me and tell me "so and so" called me or brought me something. You are truly a Godly team of people who continue steadfastly in your faith despite the difficulties we find ourselves in.  God is with each of us and will bring us through this time. In the meanwhile, let us find ways to keep stretching our vision outwards so that we will see His glory come among us!
