Minister's Message
Dear Friends,

"...For the Lord's teaching comes from Jerusalem; from Zion He speaks to His people." Isaiah 2:3b (GNB)

I have recently returned from a life-transforming pilgrimage to Israel where I experienced and witnessed profound moments steeped in Scripture. We traversed holy sites across "Jesus' country" and many hearts were stirred and transformed in various ways. There were many highlights which I will try to incorporate over time in my sermons. I want to assure you in the mean time, that I held Living Faith Uniting Church in prayer during my time there, and particularly at the Western Wall, otherwise known as the Wailing Wall.

I was still reeling from our wonderful Watoto Concert experience before I left. What a joy it was to have our church filled with such excitement, many people and particularly children, who God used to speak to us. May this create a wonderful vision for our future! We give Him praise for a glorious night that was filled with so much joy!

The rain today is another reason for us to be joyous as we slowly head towards the season of Christmas. As we undertake the journey towards this celebration of Jesus' birth, let us take time to soak in the deep meaning and difference Christ's birth brings to our lives so that we don't waste the opportunity to experience His love afresh when Christmas Day comes. As part of our expectations for the season, we are organising a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at our church on 28 November, the details are outlined in this newsletter. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us as a community to give thanks for each other and for all God has done for us.

We have much to be grateful for and especially for all that God has done in our church this year. We pray, "Come Lord Jesus, let us experience you more and more!"

Your friend,

As a church community we would like to express a special word of thanks to our Property Maintenance team and friends who did a marvellous job before and during the school holidays with insulating our roof. We've had tremendous feedback on their work and the Superstars Dance School parents have been so grateful for the change in temperature in the facility. Thank you gentlemen for your hard labour and commitment to upgrading our property in this much-needed way!
Kidz Church

Is there a child in your life who you wish could come to church?

Why not invite them to attend our Kidz Church program which runs every Sunday during the worship session. Children are also treated to a fun story with the greater church family before heading out to their classes. Children are also invited to participate in the service at various times.

Bring along your children or grandchildren, or invite friends and neighbours with their little ones to come along and join in the fun! For more information contact Rev Iris Marais
Everyone is warmly invited to attend a relaxed training session on pastoral care. This is suitable for anyone who cares for others, within or outside of the church context. The session will be lead by Simon Gomersall, expert lecturer in Pastoral Care at Trinity College Queensland. Simon's vast experience and knowledge on the topic will provide a solid foundation for our church as we progress towards creating a culture of care within our community. We'd love you to join us.
