Ultra Violet systems are used for inactivation of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, molds, and pathogens in pool water. The UV light causes permanent damage to the DNA found in these microorganisms. Once the DNA becomes damaged the organism is unable to carry out its function and quickly dies.
Many facilities have been using first generation Triogen, Hanovia and ETS (to name a few) UV systems for many years and they are reaching the end of their service life. As these systems are exposed to chemicals & heat inherent in pump rooms, this can have detrimental effects on the air-cooled circuitry over time. PCB and transformer technology have changed, and parts can be hard to source. These are a couple key challenges we see in the field.
If you have determined your UV system is ready for replacement, there are many benefits to the ETS Wafer™ units to evaluate & consider.
