Including Nez Perce-Clearwater NF, US Fish & Wildlife Service, IDFG, IOGLB, and IOGA staff/representatives. 
Please contact Carol Hennessey, Outfitter Program Manager on the Nez Perce Clearwater NF with any agenda input or questions about the agenda you may have.
  1. Discussion on “Bear Aware” information and education campaign and potential camp sanitation requirements for reducing bear/human interaction.   Objective is to get ideas, feedback and identify partnership opportunities with outfitters.--Cheryl Probert Forest Supervisor, Christy Johnson-Hughes with FWS, and Clay Hickey or Zach Swearingen with IDFG.
  2. Tri-Agency Predator Overlap Policy: FS, IDFG and IOGLB Representatives 
    1. Discussion: Renewal of Policy for additional 3 years as policy expires June 30th ; Q&A Session
  3. Trail Stewardship Act: Outfitter Fee Offset Program: Carol Hennessey (NPC Outfitter Program Manager), Kent Wellner and Jeff Ward (Regional Program Managers)
    1. Discussion: Program Overview, Review of last year’s participation including discussions from outfitters who participated, How to participate in the program in 2021; Q&A Session

SNRA O/G Management Plan Meeting

The Sawtooth National Recreation Area has released a Scoping Proposed Action for an SNRA Outfitter and Guide Management Plan. There is a short turnaround time to provide comment/feedback to the Forest Service.

As Outfitters and Guides our voices are stronger together. 

Please take the time to complete ALL  three (3) of the actions below.

1. Fill out this Input/Survey Form 

  • The form is a very broadly framed outline for permitee insight/comment. 
  • When your submit the form, your comments will be sent to IOGA.
    • This is not the official USFS comment form. you must submit your official comments to the USFS/SNRA independently before May 2. 
  • IOGA will compile and review all feedback received from SNRA permittees (who submit the form linked above) in order to be able to present the SNRA a summary of common concerns, questions, issues and themes.
  • The goal is to be able to identify 'overarching' questions or concerns from the industry/permitees rather than operationally specific ones.   

2. Attend/participate in the meeting

Meeting hosted by IOGA with East Idaho Outfitters/Guides, and representatives from Fish & Game, Teton County, and Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board. The meeting is virtual (Zoom), and in person (Ashton Idaho Community Center). See below for meeting information and agenda items.

1:30 PM Teton River Recreational Use Management Actions Discussion
  • Summary: Teton County is leading an effort to address the recent dramatic increase in recreational use on the Teton River. The County, in cooperation with Idaho Fish & Game, is reaching out to a variety of river stakeholders to develop both short- and long -term management strategies. We hope to preserve the river’s precious fishery and wildlife habitat while providing a positive recreational experience for all users of the Teton.
