  1. April 26, 2020 Members Business Meeting - Will be held at 1:00 pm today via the online Zoom platform. VCBC Members who have registered with the Church Office for this MBM and have received an individual link can join the meeting.  Please make sure you have already installed the Zoom client app on your device. Office staff are standing by from 12:30 pm to provide assistance with Zoom connection.  For technical assistance, please call the Church Office at 604-325-6314 ext. 0 (Cindy) or 122 (Petra). 
  2. VCBC Weekly Devotionals. Since last week, 3 of our very own pastors and deacons have been sharing nurturing words to the congregation each week. Please visit our church website or read this week's devotionals via this link
  3. Join our online service via Zoom Webinar. Please note: Due to new Zoom security update, it now requires each user to register in order to participate.   4. Online Sunday Life Group Module: "Is Young Earth Creationism Scientific?" Led by Henry Lew, the SLG class will be available every Sunday at 11:15am. The room will be at https://slg.vcbc.ca. Since the SLG class shares the same waiting space as the Virtual Basement, it will take around one minute to be redirected to the SLG room.   5. Online Prayer Retreat - How Long O Lord? (Saturday, May 23rd from 9:30am - 12:00pm) Let's come together to pray as a family for our world, church, and community. Leading up to the prayer retreat, from May 17-22nd, we will be providing daily resources for individual reflection and prayer.   6. VCBC is now introducing Online Offering using Interac E-Transfer Auto-deposit - You can now use your online banking to make Interac E-Transfer to VCBC. Please contact Hannah at the Church Office (hannahc@vcbc.bc.ca) to obtain the designated VCBC email address before making your first e-Transfer. The funds will be deposited into VCBC’s bank account automatically. Please see full instructions in our website or via the Online Donations page. We hope that those who are able will use this option to catch up on any offerings that they may have missed in the past 6 weeks.
  7. JCKidz is now available online! Our JCKidz leaders have prepared online materials for children and their parents to continue their journey with God every week. Activities include worship, crafts, games, videos, and even prizes for completion! Please click here to access the materials or contact childrenvcbc@gmail.com for more details.
  8. Past livestream services are made available at https://vcbc.ca/past-webcast. Those who would like to request access subsequently may contact the church office for instructions.  Due to privacy concerns, please do not share it with others.
  9. An online prayer night will be held every Sunday from 9:00pm - 9:30pm via Zoom conference. Please click here if you would like to join us in prayer for our community and for the world in midst of the pandemic situation.
  10. VCBC Community Care Initiative. We hope to offer support and care to those who are affected by the COVID-19 situation. If you wish to participate as a volunteer in providing groceries or daily necessities courier services, or if you know of someone who can make use of such assistance, please contact Cindy in the Church Office for more information.

CONTINUITY PLAN UPDATE
  1. VCBC has implemented our shutdown protocol effective March 20, 2020 until further notice. Any physical access to the church building must be pre-approved by the Board of Directors during this shutdown period through requesting one of the moderators or Pastor Sam.
  2. Sunday Services have been relocated online via live streaming platforms. English Service live stream are available Sundays 9:40am. Members may visit our website (www.vcbc.ca) and click on the link available at the top of the page. If you cannot participate during the live stream times, you may visit www.vcbc.ca/past-webcast (password protected) to browse our past live streams. Please inquire the church office 604-325-6314 or english@vcbc.bc.ca to obtain password access.
  3. During this time, church’s phone number is forwarded to one of our secretaries. As a result, you may still call 604-325-6314 for any inquiry, and our staff will continue to serve you.
  4. In the mean time, the church also extends care to those who may be affected by the COVID-19 (Click for more details). Please contact the church office if you or someone you know of may be in need of assistance.
  5. The Charity Committee has allocated some funds to provide financial assistance to brothers and sisters who are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please contact Charity Committee via email (charity@vcbc.bc.ca) in confidence.

Praise God for:
  • The local and overseas missionaries that have overcome the challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The tireless efforts of the JCKidz and VBS teams in preparing the online materials.
  • The volunteers at the VCBC Community Care Initiative who provided support and care for those who are isolated and needed assistance during this pandemic.
Pray for:
  • Our little sister in Christ Janelle Mak who is in the midst of battling leukemia and is in need of a matching for bone marrow transplant donor.
  • The VBS planning as they are seeking for more volunteers to participate.
  • All our citizens to continue practicing physical distancing, isolate when required, and hand hygiene.
  • Healing from potential trauma, stress, burnout and emotional scars in those healthcare professionals while working during this pandemic.
  • Comfort to those who have lost their loved ones to COVID-19.
  • Those who are seeking employment as our country opens up.
