CALL TO WORSHIP - Galatians 3:6-9, 13-14, 23-29

  1. We will be hosting a Q&A on the topic of Prayer during next Sunday's Worship Service. Please feel free to bring your question to the service and we will try our best to answer as many as we can.
  2. Registration for this year's VBS is now full. Thank you for those who registered! Please continue to pray for the volunteers as they are preparing for the online camp content.
  3. Join us for a special Sunday Life Group on July 5 after service as Pastor Paul provides an introduction to the upcoming Total Growth Discipleship Program in November. We will be joined by past graduates who will be sharing with us their experiences from the program. For more information about Total Growth, please visit
  4. SYC 2020 will be online this year! In the midst of COVID, our association hopes to celebrate and worship with youths grades 7-12 on Aug 23-27 in a way that will be different from previous years. Register or find out more from our newsletter ( or our website (

Support for Janelle - Here's an update from the Mak family in regards to our dear little sister Janelle who is in midst of battling leukemia: "We have found a full match oversea donor who is willing to donate bone marrow for her! Now the doctor is doing eligibility tests again to make sure the donor is ok and the logistics to ship back the marrow. God has been good to us. If she is well and all things go well, her transplant can start in mid July. Thank you for all your prayer support and please continue to pray for us."
  6. An Online Prayer Box has been set up for those who wish to seek prayer support from our prayer team. Entries can be submitted anonymously but you also have the option to be contacted if you wish to have someone pray with you. Please visit for details.
  7. An Online Sunday Life Group Module - "Is Young Earth Creationism Scientific?" Join us every Sunday after service at 11:15am as Henry Lew leads this SLG class. The room will be at Supplementary materials and session recordings are available via this link
  8. An Online Prayer Night will be held every Sunday from 8:00pm - 8:30pm via Zoom conference. Please click here if you would like to join us in prayer for our community and for the world in midst of the pandemic situation. 
  9. JCKidz is now available online! Our JCKidz leaders have prepared online materials for children and their parents to continue their journey with God every week. Activities include worship, crafts, games, videos, and even prizes for completion! Please click here to access the materials or contact for more details.
  10. Technology Committee Help. We're looking for people who are enthusiastic about technology, willing to learn, and has time. Skill sets that we are interested in are: 1) Office/network infrastructure 2) Network security 3) Digital & social media management and 4) Website maintenance/improvement.   11. Online Offering - It is now possible to make your tithing/offering online through your bank's Interac e-Transfer function.  Please click on the Give button on the Menu Bar at the top of the homepage on our website for detail.
  12. VCBC Community Care Initiative. We hope to offer support and care to those who are affected by the COVID-19 situation. If you wish to participate as a volunteer in providing groceries or daily necessities courier services, or if you know of someone who can make use of such assistance, please contact Cindy in the Church Office for more information.
  1. Update from the Board of Directors:
    Upon reviewing the B.C. Government's May 6 announcement of a phased Restart Plan for the province and additional pronouncements—with gradual easing of public restrictions which commenced on May 19—our Board of Directors has given approval for some church administrative staff to work partially at home and partially at church on a trial basis which started on May 20.  The church building remains closed to everyone else, and prior permission for ministry leaders from the Board (through the Moderator) or the Pastoral Team (through Rev. Sam Wong) is still required in order to enter church premise.  Note: the Pastoral Staff will continue to work from home during this time until further notice.
  2. Worship services have been relocated online via live streaming platforms on Sundays 9:40am. If you cannot participate during the live stream times, you may visit Please inquire the church office 604-325-6314 or to obtain password access.
  3. During this time, church’s phone number is forwarded to one of our secretaries. As a result, you may still call 604-325-6314 for any inquiry, and our staff will continue to serve you.
  4. In the mean time, the church also extends care to those who may be affected by the COVID-19 (Click for more details).
  5. The Charity Committee has allocated some funds to provide financial assistance to brothers and sisters who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please contact Charity Committee via email ( in confidence.

Praise God for:
  • Our fathers for their unconditional love for us. Thank you for their sacrifice for our families. 
  • His steadfast love, mercy and grace. We are thankful our Heavenly Father will never abandon or fail us.
Pray for:
  • The planning for the first ever online SYC from Aug 23-27. We pray that more youths will be interested and encouraged to join in this new online format. 
  • Strength and wisdom for the public and private school students to finish strong as the school year ends. 
  • Wisdom and guidance for the VBS volunteers as they continue planning for the online camp content. Pray for the children who are registered for the camp.
  • Creativity in caring for our church family and our neighbours while being physically distant.
  • God's encouragement and comfort for those who are experiencing fear and anxiety during the pandemic. 
  • God's provision and encouragement for those who are struggling financially.
