Snowy bike at MacdowellHi Friends, Happy Spring!

I am recently returned from snowy Macdowell (New Hampshire) where I worked on a new collection of poems, Where to Live and How and Why, alongside a nonfiction project. I heard incredible live music and experienced stunning theater and film. I’m gratified to be back home in Florida, the subject of almost all of my writing, where the jasmine is running rampant, and where it’s time to get ready to enjoy a new season: I call it “summerizing.”

The Present State of the Garden CoverNew Books

Two collections of poetry: The Present State of the Garden, from Lynx House, appears in October and you can pre-order it now. Appearing next spring, from BOA Editions, is Field Notes from the Flood Zone.

To celebrate publication, I’ll be offering free one-hour classes, “The Friendly Art of Reading Poetry.” Stay tuned for details.

Books from The Toadstool BookshopLetters by writers got me through the darkest days of the pandemic. And this month I went a little wild at The Toadstool Bookshop—my first excursion in over a year.

Be well.
Keep in touch.
