Dear HLC Members,

As many of us venture in to new beginnings with at home school learning, changes to work environments and the ever evolving "new normal" it is hard not to reflect on how our unhoused neighbors are coping during these unprecedented times.
Governor Kate Brown  extended her declaration of a state of emergency regarding COVID-19 for an additional 60 days, until November 3, 2020. She also extended the foreclosure moratorium through December 31st, 2020.
As we continue to look at the impacts of COVID-19 over the last several months and proactively plan for the winter season, there continues to be several unknowns of what or how services will look this coming winter season. Continued flexibility, patience, and positivity are more vital now due to extraordinary circumstances specifically for individuals experiencing homelessness and for those of you that are service providers.

Please know that we are working hard to provide as much guidance, support and are continuing to ensure that the needs of those experiencing homelessness do not go unnoticed or addressed with the ever evolving changes coming our way.

Stay safe.
Colleen Thomas, HLC Co-Chair

Thanks to the generous support of donors, Mosaic’s mobile clinic program is entering a new era with a state-of-the-art clinic. Our new clinic unit, a 2019 Ford Winnebago, is now able to safely travel across the region, even during inclement weather, to reach those who need medical care most.

New amenities include functional air conditioning and heat, all-wheel drive, expanded exam room space, wheelchair accessibility and increased refrigeration space for vaccines. Mosaic is now able to provide enhanced wrap around medical services to better serve the increasing number of community members who are experiencing homelessness in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson Counties.
