Dear Friends...

I have been intending for some time to update you on what has been happening with H3 throughout the pandemic, but have not done so until now for a variety of reasons. Most significantly, it is NOT because nothing is happening! While the pandemic has hampered our travel plans and delayed some of our communication, it has been a fruitful time of ministry in Uganda!

As you may recall, in late 2019 / early 2020, we established Heads, Hearts, and Hands - Uganda. In the Lord’s timing, this has enabled us to continue serving the people of Uganda in spite of our inability to be there in person. Our H3 Uganda team has been hard at work: feeding people, meeting medical needs, identifying new opportunities for ministry, and continuing to spread the good news about Jesus throughout Kampala. We will be communicating lots more details about those things in the near future, but first - an announcement, and a request.

Part of the reason I haven’t sent out an update is because we have been organizing ourselves to be able to send out regular updates on what is happening. I’ve found that this is more complicated than it seems, but at last, we’re finally ready to start… starting with this letter, we will be sending out a MONTHLY update on various aspects of the work H3 and H3U are doing! Some of these will focus on specific individuals, ministry areas, or events, and some will be more general updates on needs, vision, and hopes for the future. This leads me to my request.

I’m asking for a friend. Seriously, that’s it… I’m asking you to invite a friend to join our mailing list. Think of someone you know that would share an interest in the work we’re doing in East Africa, and ask if they would be willing to receive one extra email a month, to update them on the work our team is doing and ways they can be praying for our ministry. Easy, right?! We want to spread the word about what God is doing in Uganda and beyond, and there’s no better way to do that than to ask for a friend!

I look forward to communicating with you all more regularly. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! You can reach me at

Uganda has gone back into a strict lockdown due to the spread of Covid-19 and the lack of hospital resources to combat a spike in cases. The country experienced its all-time peak in reported cases on June 15 and cases are now falling. Only about 1% of the country's population has been vaccinated so the rate of infection will continue to be a concern. Please pray for Dr. Nick, our Ugandan partner who conducts patient follow-ups in country. He's recovering from a severe case of Covid.

Our H3-Uganda administrator Robert Kalenzi has been keeping us updated on the crisis there, and he begs for your prayers in these areas:
  • For New City Church to find ways to minister to our members.
  • For God to protect school-age children during the pandemic. Kids that can't afford to go to school and have no job are are being lured into early marriage or drug abuse.
  • For God to provide for all those in need, especially those who have been put off work.
"Please pray that the Lord will preserve us and moreso, calm the many hearts that are now full of fear."
You may remember that our Ugandan friend Rodgers Atwebembeire was attacked and held hostage along with his family late last year. Thank you for your prayers for the family and the funds that you sent to help Rodgers beef up his home security and to replace items that were stolen. Because of this event and Rodgers' testimony, doors are being opened for witness to other neighborhood families.

Thank you for your continued support of
Heads Hearts and Hands!
