Welcome to Fall!!

Wow!! September has arrived and this means there are only three months left. I bet many of you can't wait until the year is over because let's face it, most of us were not expecting to have our world change so drastically. Mind you, if COVID taught us anything, it's realizing what is important to us. We actually had time to take a look around us to make life changes that were beneficial to us. I mean come on, my Facebook feed was filled with friends learning how to bake, cook and some people even found ways to do some DIY projects around the house. My takeaway from all this is how strong we really are as humans. #staysafe #bestrong!!

This month I found a few celebratory dates worth sharing as you might find it as amusing as I did.

Did you know this month is dedicated to Children's' Good Manners Month and International People Skills Month? For those in the workplace, September 6th is Bring Your Manners to Work Day - how funny is that?? Well, maybe it's a sign for all of us to sharpen up on our manners because let's face it, being respectful is what humanity is all about... SO!! Let's spread this as far and wide as we can! Tag - you're it, pass it on!!

We also celebrate:
Sept 1 - Randon Acts of Kindness
Sept 5 - Be Late For Something Day
Sept 7 - Labour Day
Sept 9 - Wonderful Weirdoes Day
Sept 13 - Blame Someone Else Day
Sept 21 - World Cleanup Day
Sept 30 - National Love People Day

Until next time...
Sarah
Fleming's Collaborative Circle

Buying and selling a home takes a tribe of qualified professionals to make it all work. In the last 16 years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with reputable lawyers, mortgage agents, electricians, plumbers, painters, home inspectors, home stagers, and contractors, just to name a few.

Since I always get asked if I know someone in a particular field, I thought why not feature my 'Collaborative Circle' in my newsletters.

So...this month, I'd like to introduce Anna Fuci, who is a Mortgage Agent with The Mortgage Centre.

For over 13 years, Anna has helped many individuals in home financing as she is dedicated to providing unbiased advice and focus they deserve. While many institutions rely on systems to establish an applicant’s qualification (even those who don’t always fit into the conventional world of financing), Anna considers the unique and personal needs of her clients, while keeping them apprised from the beginning to the end of the process.

You can rely on Anna's expertise, strategies and extensive knowledge of the field in exploring alternative options for your unique circumstances.

When you’re ready to start mortgage shopping, the best thing you can do is align yourself with a broker who can educate you on all available products, while creating a plan for you to become mortgage-free.

If you are a Virgo:

It is good to spend money on yourself, but go easy as you might exhaust your entire income on things that may not be as important as you think. Once you execute due discrimination, you’ll realize how much you can save for the future. Start keeping aside little of your income every month for expenses that might not be foreseen. Money does not come easy to everyone, and so you will have to start making contingency plans for the future when it comes to saving. Save a little every month and keep it for a rainy day.

If you are a Libra:

Get ready to ride the train of success. Everything you ever dreamt of might come true. Your hard work and talent will take you places. Financially, things will start looking good. Even your career is all set to take a leap. However, you are reminded that nothing compares to hard work. You need to keep working hard to get the desired results because only with constant effort and perseverance can one achieve the great things in life.

Let's take advantage of APPLE Season!!

Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil - divided
  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs - (about 8, depending on size)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt - divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper - divided
  • 1/2 cup fresh apple cider
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 medium firm - sweet apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary - plus additional for serving

Directions:
  • Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Sprinkle the top of the chicken evenly with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the chicken to the pan, top-side down. Let cook 4 minutes, then flip and continue cooking until the meat is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees, 3 to 4 additional minutes. Remove to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

  • In a small bowl or large measuring cup, stir together the apple cider and mustard. With a paper towel, carefully wipe the skillet clean. Add the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil to the pan over medium-high. Once the oil is hot, add the apple slices, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and rosemary. Cook for 5 minutes, until the apples are slightly tender and begin to turn golden. Return the chicken to the pan and pour the cider mixture over the top. Let cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until the liquid is reduced by half. Serve warm, sprinkled with additional chopped rosemary as desired.
