How to meet the EU Biodiversity
Strategy Targets 2030?!

Freshwater ecosystem restoration is an important target in the recently launched EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 in order to achieve the objectives of the of the Water Framework Directive. For this, much is needed on improving knowledge, education and skills. Investing in research, innovation and knowledge exchange will be to gathering the best data and developing the best nature based solutions. The articles in this issue of the ECRR Technical Newsletter give a good impression of of some aspects of what knowledge is needed for the foreseen type of integrated river restoration as real ecosystem restoration.

Short Survey Nature Based Solutions.
The River Restoration Centre in UK are conducting a survey to find out about Nature-Based Solution (NBS) science, policy and practice in different regions across Europe in order to develop best practice guidance nature-based solution 2-page document briefs. This work is part of the Measuring Impacts of Citizen Science (MICS) (www.mics.tools) Project. If you’re involved in Nature based solution projects, we would like to hear from you!
