Words and Worlds
Elders Council members really enjoyed participating in the Words and Worlds project and have continued to meet regularly to share their writing. They meet on Thursday afternoons online. If you enjoy writing and would like to join them, contact us at email@example.com.
The Worlds and Words Team (Elijah Young and Natasha Haws) are starting a new writing project in partnership with Coping with Cancer which is open to anyone living with or affected by cancer. The sessions will take place between July – October and will be on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Holy Trinity Church Centenary Exhibition
The Centenary Exhibition at Holy Trinity Church in Churchill Gardens NE2 2HB, continues until September. Admission is free; the display is in the Church, and is open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm, and on Sundays from 1 pm to 3 pm.
The exhibition will intrigue anyone interested in the history of this part of Jesmond and provides an opportunity to see a series of stunning stained-glass windows and fine oak carvings by Ralph Hedley and Percy Appleby.

Invitation to the Men’s Unwanted Sexual Experiences (MUSE) project event with the research team Dr Carl-Bonner Thompson, Dr Kirsty McGregor and Dr Jason Preston. The event will focus on the findings from a research project that explores the barriers that men face in accessing support for their unwanted sexual experiences in North East and South East England. The research is a collaboration between the University of Brighton, ManKindUK, the Male Survivor Partnership and 1in6.uk.
It will take place at ‘The Common Room’ in Newcastle on Wednesday 6 July (6.30-8.30 pm). The event will showcase art that was created by men who took part in the project, as well as a research talk from the team about the findings.

Have you experienced touching or flirting at work, at school, at home or in public that made you feel uncomfortable? Did you have difficulties speaking to someone or finding support?
The University of Brighton research project aims to explore the barriers men face when seeking support for issues like this. If you’re a man in North East England who has been impacted by these issues, we’d like to speak with you. This will involve an online interview (with or without video).
