Question: What do I need to know about New York’s newly enacted travel restrictions?

Answer: On June 24, 2020, Gov. Cuomo issued Executive Order 205, which sets forth restricted travel areas within the U.S. for New Yorkers and those traveling to New York.

If an individual arrives in New York after having spent more than 24 hours in a restricted area, the individual could be subject to a 14-day quarantine. This quarantine must be carried out in accordance with New York Department of Health (DOH) regulations for self-quarantining, and violators are subject to penalties of up to $10,000. Read More>>>

How long have you been in HR? Since 1997

How did you get started in your career? My HR career launched from an Administrative Assistant position I held at Bellevue Women’s Hospital in Niskayuna, NY. Throughout my early career, I acquired new skills and implemented my attained skill set at several local healthcare facilities as VP of Human Resources. It is remarkable to look back and realize at one time had responsibility for 960 employees. I have thrived when helping others, and HR is truly where I found my niche. Professionally, enjoyment comes from mentoring and educating individuals. Anywhere from healthcare benefits to navigating challenging supervision issues to employee retention, recruitment, and relations – these are all areas that have held my interest over the years. I moved on from healthcare and have been with Jaeger & Flynn for the past 12 years. Here, I partner with employers to offer the most comprehensive benefits package and robust education for their staff, in addition to human resources consultation and support.

What is your favorite community event that takes place in the Capital Region? My favorite community event is the annual CDPHP Workforce Challenge. The event is a great fund raiser for the community and brings thousands of people together. We (Jaeger & Flynn) host a hospitality tent for our clients (over 800 came through last year) where they can store their personal belongings, grab some refreshments and have a team picture taken.  It’s great to see the community come together!
