Programs Committee

The Programs Committee, led by Shauna Waldin as the Committee Chair, is the force behind all the CRHRA events you attend. Several members meet monthly to discuss and satisfy the continuing education needs of Human Resources professionals in a constantly changing environment.

There is great deal of work involved in organizing an event, from researching hot topics, soliciting and inviting speakers, to arranging attractive and accessible venues and being the first and last on the scene at the program events. The Program Committee also works closely with our Chapter Administrator to coordinate announcements and registration for members to ensure all runs smoothly.

The Programs Committee not only has identified the key to creating successful and smoothly running events with numerous moving pieces, but also how to do it in a harmonious and fun way. We meet monthly for breakfast and strategizing at Panera Bread in Latham. If you are eager to use your creative and organizational skills as a Program Committee volunteer, please join us by contacting info@crhra.org.

Name:  Alex Sullivan
Title and Employer or Area of HR Expertise:  
I am an HR Manager at the Center for Disability Services. As a business partner, I provide guidance and support in the areas of employee relations, recruitment and selection, job analysis and compensation, training and development, and performance management. I partner with the Quality Assurance and Improvement department on investigations involving allegations of abuse, neglect, and/or mistreatment of the people we support and supporting employees through the investigatory process involving allegations. I provide direct supervision and career development to members of the HR team.
What was your first HR related job? 
I started my HR career at the Center for Disability Services as an HR Associate, where the bulk of my role was to lead new hire paperwork meetings for new hires, complete background checks and pre-employment clearances for new hires, and coordinate bimonthly new hire orientation. 
What’s your favorite “classic” movie? 
The Sound of Music
