A Year In Review At The Salon
When we reflect on year three at The Salon, countless heartwarming memories come flooding back. We began 2022 with DEI Workshops on Zoom and a Food Summit featuring the badass women tending local farms, ending waste, and fighting hunger in Pittsburgh.
In the months following, we gathered at art galleries, went kayaking on the Allegheny River, made seasonal wreaths and charcuteries, shared recipes at potlucks, and created spaces for parents, BIPOC women, 20 Somethings, and female entrepreneurs to meet, talk, and support one another in their shared experiences. And in between scheduled events, we could be found hanging in The Salon Studio enjoying coffee and connection with members and friends.
We’re proud of The Salon community and humbled by the strong, forward-thinking, and talented women who’ve made it all possible.
Thank you to everyone who showed up with an open mind and heart, brought a friend to an event, engaged in a conversation with someone new, and helped make year three at The Salon the best.
Cheers to making more memories in 2023!

The Salon is a place to dabble in the unknown. We provide an admittedly eclectic (but community-led!) range of programming. One week, it might be an academic discussing the gender pay gap. Next, it might be wine tasting and hipster puzzles. Indulge in new things with us! And if it makes you a bit nervous, that might be a good thing. Find out for yourself what we’re all about.
Let’s begin the New Year exploring the foundation of wellness: the body! This evening is not your mama’s fitness lecture! We are going to take a look at how we make choices and what it really means to have a healthy body. It definitely does not mean that you need to look a certain way. Explore body positivity and the role of intuition in finding YOUR healthy body. Register here! Or, register for a series package here!
Welcome 2023 with us as we embark on a 6-week journey focused on building healthy habits that we can stick to. Led by Salon member, holistic health coach, and yoga instructor Becca Jones, each week will focus on a different wellness topic — nutrition, movement, mental health, sleep, and more — to help you create an integrated plan for building the life you want. This month, we’re burying our noses in Dirtbag, Massachusetts, a memoir about growing up in a poor, rural part of the country, amid sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll. As an adult, the author works to repair his family and make sense of himself now that the party is over. Join us to talk about critical themes and plot points, listen to others’ thoughts, and share our own impressions and opinions. No worries if you don’t finish the book or haven’t been part of the Book Circle until now — you can jump in at any time. Register here!
Start your day with a pick-me-up and conversation. Drop in to The Salon to hang out with (and meet!) fellow Salon members, warm up with complimentary coffee or tea, and generally have a good time. It’s a great way to get a feel for The Salon and connect with local women. Oh, and don’t hesitate to bring a friend along. Open and free to all. Register here!

There's no two ways around it, parenting is complicated.
