Embrace A Change Of Pace

The feelings of transition that come with seasonal change create a perfect opportunity for us all to branch out and try something new. This idea, combined with member feedback requesting more opportunities to meet and bond with the larger Salon community, led us to try something new. Open Fridays!

Open Fridays at The Salon are a chance to make new and meaningful connections this fall before we hunker down for winter. Come cozy in for a day of work alongside fellow Salon members. Or, just stop by and wind down your week (or wind up your weekend!) together with The Salon community. Stay for an hour, the afternoon, or the whole day.

No need for a day pass — if you’re a Salon member, we’ve got it covered. All you have to do is show up. Not a Salon member? Open Fridays is a great opportunity to sign up for a membership and get to know our community!

Until next week,
—Meredith

Fun Fridays at The Salon!

Mix up your week and join us every Friday this fall at The Salon to connect with our community. We’ll revel in the bustling energy of Lawrenceville, build connections with fellow Pittsburgh women, and, if the mood strikes, we may even make our way to the rooftop for a bird’s eye view of the changing leaves.

Think of Open Fridays at The Salon as a respite from the challenges of the week and the perfect way to transition to the weekend.

Available for Salon members only. See you on Friday!

*Salon Fridays are limited to up to 20 people and will not take place if our space is booked for a full day by a member or occupied for an event.*

From Shame to Self-Compassion

3-Part Series: Wed, November 2, 9, and 16

8-9 pm

Zoom

Join the Miror community and facilitator Emmy Marie — a certified, trauma-informed life coach and NARM practitioner — to learn how to make the shift from shame to self-compassion. During the series, you’ll practice getting curious about yourself instead of being judgemental, being patient instead of using force and urgency, and developing an inner voice of kindness, acceptance, and compassion instead of cruelty and criticism. ($15 special discount for Salon members with code BLOOMING.) Register here!

"Transference" in the Workplace
Tues, November 8

6-7:30 pm

Zoom

Virtually gather with Miror facilitator Jordan Dann — a Gestalt therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Imago Relationship Therapist — to sift through how your earliest relational experiences have shaped how you view yourself and the world. Transference is a psychological phenomenon in which the feelings you have about past experiences are unconsciously redirected to the present situation. The more awareness you have about your history and what you’re unconsciously recreating, the more choice you have about changing it. ($25 special discount for Salon members with code CHOOSING.) Register here!

The Salon is a place to dabble in the unknown. We provide an admittedly eclectic (but community-led!) range of programming. One week, it might be an academic discussing the gender pay gap. Next, it might be wine tasting and collaging.

Find out for yourself what we’re all about.

Join us to talk about critical themes and plot points, listen to others’ thoughts, and share our own impressions and opinions. No worries if you don’t finish the book or haven’t been part of the Book Circle until now — you can jump in at any time. Register here!
