Teamwork Makes The Dream Work
A few weeks ago, we hosted our first Fempreneur Social on the rooftop of Field Day. It was a true joy to see familiar faces, meet new members, and have so many phenomenal women in the same place. Inspiring is an understatement.
The growth of The Salon from year one to year three has been a rewarding experience. But we’re just getting started. Our member-driven Salon Curators Program is the next step in continuing to cultivate a community of women that is progressive, thought-provoking, and ever-evolving.
The recent Fempreneur Social is a perfect example. It was dreamed up by one of our very own and made possible through the collaboration and support of our collective. We want to keep the momentum going.
If you have a few ideas you think would be a great fit for The Salon, share them with us! (You have one more day to get in on the action.) And if you or a friend had a blast at our Fempreneur Social, join The Salon as a full-fledged member.
We have exciting events planned for this fall and winter — members get discounts — and we’d love to have you there.
Until next week,

What A Night!
Thank you to all who attended our Fempreneur Social. We were blown away by the business leaders, entrepreneurs, allies, and friends who showed up to network, support each other, and enjoy an epic sunset with The Salon. Take a moment to reminisce with a few photos from the event. And don’t miss our regularly scheduled monthly Fempreneur Meet-Up on October 19 — Register here!
We’re looking for 3 enterprising female teachers and tastemakers to develop the next season of Salon programming. Curators will design a slate of 3-5 events — field trips, panels, workshops — around a topic pertinent to Pittsburgh’s women. Rather than spearhead and lead each event themselves, we ask that curators showcase local female innovators. Think entrepreneurs, creatives, healers, activists, chefs, and more.
More information and application instructions can be found in the linked Call for Curators. Start brainstorming — proposals are due TOMORROW.
We look forward to receiving and sharing your vision!
At The Salon, you’ll meet some amazing women, the kind who will become your best friends or mentors. And you’ll discover a genuine willingness to help and connect. We’re a non-judgmental space for you to learn new things, engage in enlightening conversations, and reflect on the world with other women.
Start your day with a pick-me-up and conversation. Drop in to The Salon on (most)Tuesday morning to hang out with (and meet!) fellow Salon members, warm up with complimentary coffee or tea, and generally have a good time. It’s a great way to get a feel for The Salon and connect with local women. Oh, and don’t hesitate to bring a friend along. Open and free to all. Register here!
Join us for an end-of-season adventure before the chilly temps set in. Hop in a kayak or canoe with The Salon and career rower and coach Jenn Langzettel for a guided paddle on a beautiful stretch of the Allegheny River. Home to beautiful foliage, great blue herons, red-tailed hawks, and even a family of bald eagles, we’ll enjoy a stunning view of wildlife from the water. Spots are limited — and fill up fast! Register here! Register here!
Gather your friend group, and spend your Friday evening celebrating and empowering fellow Pittsburgh women. Meet us at Mr. Smalls for a fun night of live music featuring some of the most exciting emerging female Soul, R&B, and Hip-Hop artists in the city. Salon members receive an exclusive discount with code: salonpgh. Register here! (Salon members use special code salonpgh for discounted tix!).
