Dear friends,
Finally, the time has come again! After the American Pride Month in June, which is also becoming increasingly popular in Europe, the Luxembourg Pride Week is now taking place!
We are particularly pleased that for the third year in a row, the Luxembourg Parliament is fludding the building in rainbow colours and has raised the rainbow flag for the first time.
We are equally pleased that many municipalities have followed our request and raised a rainbow flag during Pride Week: besides the municipalities of Esch, Sanem and Clervaux, this year the municipalities of Luxembourg, Ettelbruck, Diekirch, Bourscheid, Larochette, Esch-sur-Sure, Junglinster, etc. have joined us. With the buildings of Education, Foreign Affairs, Health and Economy, ministries are also joining the ranks for the first time.

A number of cities and municipalities (Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, Roeser, Sanem, etc.) have since declared themselves LGBTIQ+ Freedom Zones. On 29 June, the Luxembourg Parliament overwhelmingly passed a resolution making the Grand Duchy the first national LGBTIQ+ Freedom Zone in Europe.

After more than a year of the pandemic, we are happy to be able to hold events with an audience again for the first time. Unfortunately, however, this will still be on a limited scale. For this reason, we were forced to change the location of the Pride Show from the Esch Town Hall Square to a enclosed location. This year, the Pride Show will take place at Wicki Beach on route de Belval in Esch with around 500 visitors. To give even more people the opportunity to be part of the Pride, two public viewings will be held at
Café DaMa in Differdange and the Escher Kafé. Camera teams will be present and some acts will perform from there.

All our events (with the exception of the Queer Movie Night) will take place in front of a limited audience as well as being streamed live on the internet.

We are looking forward to to see you all again and hope you will enjoy this year's Pride edition!

You will find our complet program and much more in this year's
Pride Guide!
Best wishes and Happy Pride Week,
the board of Rosa Lëtzebuerg

A central element of a Pride has of course always been the Pride Parade. Since 2015, the stage programm at the street festival starts every year with the arrival of the parade at the town hall square in Esch-sur-Alzette. But what is the parade all about?

We would have loved to march through the Rue de l’Alzette again! After last year’s Equality March could only take place in digital form due to Covid19, unfortunately this year – despite further changes in governmental regulations and a Pride Show in front of a live audience – no Equality March will be able to take place in the usual form.

Since queer visibility is more important than ever, especially in times of a pandemic, we don’t want to do without it completely in 2021 either. Therefore, we will organise a Digital Equality March again this year. And this is where you come in! Take part by taking a selfie of yourself or with your favourite people, friends or family. You are also welcome to take part in the form of a short video snippet of you dancing, greeting the audience, etc. Do you have a message you want to share it with others? Then draw a sign and hold it up to the camera! Be colourful, be loud, be yourself!
Send us your selfie(s) or video by Email or simply upload them to our Cloud!

The Digital Equality March 2021 will then be shown on an LED wall in front of the live audience on Wicki Beach during the Pride Show on Saturday 10 July from 2pm and will also be live streamed.

LGBTIQ+ people have been marginalized for centuries and are often still a victim to social hate and crimes. Today, we want to take a moment to honor those people who weren't as fortunate as we are and show them our respect for the path that they freed for us.

The ceremony will take place physically, but will also be broadcast live. The exact details of the commemoration ceremony will be communicated at short notice, in accordance with the applicable safety guidelines.

When: 05.07.2021, 19.00
Where: Place de la Résistance, Esch-sur-Alzette & via LiveStream

A Queer Movie Night will take place again in 2021!
We are very proud to present you a pre-premiere in this year's #QueerMovieNight as the film is not released in Luxembourg and France until September:
Supernova, by Harry Macqueen, starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci.

"If you had one wish in the world, what would it be? - I wish this holiday would never end ..." With these words, we are thrown into the story of Sam (Colin Firth) and Tusker Mulliner (Stanley Tucci) as the latter is facing the pending doom of dementia. After the diagnosis, their whole lives had to change, jobs were given up, plans put on hold. They want to cherish the little time there is left ... A moving story about 2 men who are visiting places from the past and being confronted with a different future they had hoped for. Ultimately both of them will have to confront the question of what it means to love one another in the face of Tusker’s irreparable illness.

The situation of the LGBTIQ+ Community after the pandemic

It was foreseeable: a Pride like in previous years would not be possible this year. But we have found an alternative that makes a Pride Show with up to 500 people possible. The Pride Show will take place at Wicki Beach and was fully booked in just one week.

Our Pride Show will be streamed live on the internet and on two public viewings. These public viewings are also part of the show: there will be a camera crew on site and various artists will perform there, so that these performances can also be seen in the livestream or on the big screen at Wicki Beach.

This year we are especially happy to be able to celebrate with you again, even if in a small circle, and to fight for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community.

We are also happy about the artists we are welcoming on stage this year: DJ Pippa will give a Pride warm up on Wicki Beach from 13.00. The event will continue with a whole series of speeches, interviews and finally performances by Fada's Family & Delux Show Girls, various local Drag Queens, Pauline Mancini, Rike Port & Friends, Luxembourgian hip-hoper Nicool and headliner former DSDS winner Daniel Schuhmacher! And don't miss the WR Pride Beach Party directly afterwards!

When: 10.07.2021, 13.00
Where: Wicki Beach, Esch (sold out) & Livestream

Public Viewings: Café DaMa (Differdange) & Escher Kafé (Esch)
Entrance: free admission
