Dear Friends,

Slowly we are heading towards summer. With the increasingly better weather, the festival season is also starting. So the work around Luxembourg Pride 2022 is still in full swing. But speaking of festivals: tomorrow, Saturday, an inclusive music festival will take place in Reckange-sur-Mess. The headliner and patron of the Messtival is the queer local hero and rapper Maz, supported by CHAiLD and many others. Rosa Lëtzebuerg will be present at this festival with an information stand!

And speaking of information stands: next Monday, 9 May, we will also celebrate Europe Day. The European Commission in Luxembourg is organising a big street fest in Esch-sur-Alzette for this occasion and our association will also be there with its own information stand all day offering information about our missions and activities. Come by and talk to us!

In one and a half weeks time, we will also be approaching the IDAHOBIT, the International Day against Homo-, Bi-, Inter- and Transphobia, on 17 May. As in previous years, the annual ILGA Europe Rainbow Index will be published in the run-up to this day of action, and Rosa Lëtzebuerg was once again involved in its elaboration. More about this in a press release or in our next newsletter.

01-10.07. | FIRST PART OF THE LUXEMBOURG PRIDE 2022 PROGRAMME REVEILED!

After more than 3 years of planning, Rosa Lëtzebuerg presented the programme for Luxembourg Pride 2022 at a press conference on 30 March. Also revealed was the first batch of artists for the street festival on 9 and 10 July on the town hall square in Esch-sur-Alzette.
The focus is on a balanced mix of local and european artists, in line with the motto of the European Capital of Culture Esch2022: Remix Europe.

As the national headliner, we are especially looking forward to Edsun, who has built up a remarkable career in the last few years, but is also a figurehead of the local LGBTIQ+ community with his lyrics and shows. He will also perform at the commemoration ceremony on 4 July. Look forward to a very special opening ceremony!

This year's street festival will feature CHAiLD and DJ Pippa among other artists. Daniel Schuhmacher will honour us once again this year, hopefully without rain. For our Eurovision Song Contest friends we then have another highlight with Jendrik and Poli Genova.

09.07. | BOY GEORGE & CULTURE CLUB AT THIS YEAR'S PRIDE!

In celebration of the European Capital of Culture 2022, we are very happy to present a very special highlight at this year' s Luxembourg Pride! In a close partnership with the city of Esch-sur-Alzette, home of the national Pride since 2010, and in collaboration with FrEsch asbl, Boy George & Culture Club will give one of their very limited concerts at Luxembourg Pride on 9 July 2022.
