Learn more about G3ict work with Smart Universities
G3ict, through its Smart Cities for All global initiative, is collaborating with universities, technology companies, and consultancies to help higher education institutions of all types be both smarter and more inclusive. An upcoming series of webinars will showcase how universities have undergone G3ict’s Smart University Digital Inclusion Maturity Model© assessment and taken specific steps to be more accessible and inclusive in how they deploy technology and use data. Sessions include campus profiles with Chris Misra, Vice Chancellor and CIO, University of Massachusetts – Amherst (March 25) and Keith Hays, ADA IT Coordinator, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (April 22). A third webinar with Megan Lawrence of Microsoft and Damian Sian (April 28) will explore numerous “Quick Wins” identified during the campus tactics to improve accessibility and digital inclusion at higher education institutions. These three Smart University webinars are part of a larger series in partnership with the IAAP. Find out more about the 2021 Higher Education Webinar Series.

Join the G3ict/Smart Cities for All Country Representative Program
G3ict, through its Smart Cities for All initiative, is seeking Country Representatives to promote the goals and objectives of G3ict, SC4A, and the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) in countries around the world. Representatives take part as subject matter experts for G3ict's various divisions in the development of specific project initiatives, education, certification, and mentoring. The list of current Country Representatives is available on the SC4A website. Apply or nominate someone you know for the Country Representative Program.

IAAP Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) Program
Cities around the world are responsible for creating and deploying critical documents of many types. To ensure inclusion for all, it is imperative that these documents are available in accessible formats. IAAP’s Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) credential is intended for accessibility practitioners and specialists with a minimum 1-2 years' experience who function in one of many team roles related to accessible document authoring, remediation, training, policy, and advocacy of accessible document solutions. Find out more about the ADS certification that is now accepting exam applications.

G3ict/SC4A Country Representatives Highlights

Learn more about the latest work and achievements of our Country Representatives.
Congratulations to our Country Representatives from India, Libya and Mexico! We are delighted to announce that three of our country representatives have received different levels of IAAP's Certified Professional in Accessibility Built Environment (CPABE).
 
Subhash Chandra Vashishth from India has received the CPABE Level 3 - Expert Accessibility Professional Certification. Subhash is an Accessibility, Universal Design and Diversity Inclusion Specialist, working on standards, capacity building, access audits and advocacy. He is also the founder and director of Centre for Accessibility in Built Environment Foundation based in India.
 
Andrés Balcazar from Mexico has received the CPABE Level 3 - Expert Accessibility Professional Certification. Andrés is Director of Disability Affairs at the Mexico’s Human Rights Commission, and an architect and accessibility and disability consultant. He is also a member of the
IAAP Global Leadership Council.
 
Ahmed El-Rida from Libya has received the CPABE Level 2 - Advanced Accessibility Professional Certification. Ahmed is an architect and urban planner with a keen interest in the area of accessibility for the past 36 years. Recently, he has also started teaching a course in Universal Accessibility and Design for All at the Berenice University of Architecture and Urbanism BUAU.

IAAP 2021 Higher Education Webinar Series - Driving Accessibility Campus Improvements
March 11-April 22, 2021
The five-part webinar series is intended for anyone working in information technology, procurement, compliance, ADA coordinators, communications, professional education, instructional design, disability support, faculty, event coordinators, and other staff professionals working towards creating and maintaining an inclusive campus. Over the next few weeks, the webinars explore executive leadership buy-in, campus maturity model profiles, the G3ict Smart University Digital Inclusion Maturity Model

IAAP Built Environment Webinar Series - Disability Sector Engagement for Accessible Transport
March 10, 2021
Bridget Burdett (Principal Researcher at MRCagney) and Paul Brown (Policy Advisor, New Zealand's Disabled Person's Assembly) will speak at this month’s  webinar on why and how transport professionals should work with persons with disabilities and the organizations that represent them to get more accessible transport outcomes. Transport planners, engineers, community engagement specialists, disability advocates, inclusive access advisors are encouraged to attend. Access Israel's 8th International Webinar on Inclusive Smart Cities During and Post COVID-19
April 12, 2021
G3ict and Smart Cities for All global initiative have partnered with
Access Israel for the next edition of its highly popular and impactful international webinar series. The webinar will present good practices and upcoming innovations to make cities worldwide both smarter and more accessible, especially during and post COVID-19. The event will showcase how the digital transformation of cities can increase inclusion for persons with disabilities and reduce barriers, including in transportation and mobility, education, justice systems, museums and tourism, etc.. M-Enabling Summit 2021 Year-Long Conference Schedule & Digital Series
The year, the M-Enabling Summit conference schedule includes two additional Virtual Leadership Briefings (April and June), followed by the M-Enabling Summit Conference and Showcase (October). The 2nd edition of the M-Enabling Virtual Leadership Briefing will run under the theme, The Acceleration of Innovation in Inclusive Virtual Workplaces for Persons with Disabilities, and the 3rd briefing will cover Universities at the Forefront of Digital Inclusion.
