Procurement Roundtable in Sweden
On January 28, G3ict partnered with the Swedish Disability Rights Federation, the European Disability Forum, and the Microsoft corporation to present a roundtable discussion on how to include accessibility in public sector ICT procurement in Sweden, including by cities. Many public sector bodies in Sweden do not yet systematically include accessibility requirements in all ICT purchases. Speakers at the roundtable included Mia Ahlgren (Funktionsrätt Sverige), Stina Biärsjö (Microsoft), Ima Placencia Porrero (EU Commission), Josefine Monfors and Ellionor Triay Strömvall (Procurement Authority) and James Thurston (G3ict). The event in Sweden was held as part of the series of roundtable discussions focused on the procurement of accessible ICT by public sector agencies in Europe. The next in the series will focus on public sector procurement and accessibility in Austria.
