THERE ARE ONLY 3 BRONZE / SRC REQUAL SESSIONS LEFT. If you miss these and still need to requal then the onus falls on you to find a friendly trainer willing to give up yet more of their time and to find sufficient friends to complete items like the spinal rescue.

The main Bronze and SRC requal sessions will again be held every Saturday and Sunday in November.  Saturdays will still be at 9am but due to the club being so busy on Sunday mornings SUNDAY REQUALS WILL NOW BE AT 7am. Meet at the top of the boat ramp.  Please refresh yourself on signals and the basics of the bronze so that the requal sessions can be quick skill checks rather than training sessions.  See for help with signals.
ADVANCED RESUS Requals this Saturday ay 9am and this Sunday at 7am.   Meet at the top of the boat ramp and state you want to do Advanced Resus not Bronze.

PAIN MANAGEMENT requal Wednesday 27/11/19 at 6:30pm.  Contact to register for this.

Beware of your Belongings while on the beach!
Just a reminder to all members to make sure you keep an eye on your belongings while on the beach or around the club. Keep an eye out for members stuff and report any activity you see. We do have lockers that the members can use in the club changerooms, you will need to bring your own lock!

Below are some tips for our members to remember.

Consider the Valuables We Take to The Beach.
The Beach is the Perfect Place for Thieves.
Take a Waterproof Smartphone Pouch.
Take Your Valuables in the Water With You.
Invest in an Anti-Theft Beach Bag.
Beach Towel with Zip Pocket for Valuables.
Woodside Nippers
Great to see the Woodside nippers at Sorrento is in full swing. It’s so great to see so many smiling faces on the beach on a Sunday morning. Good luck and well done to one of our senior age managers Andrew Ridley who is going to the UK with the Austrailian Royal Life Saving team. Enjoy your experience!

Club Championships
This week sees our first club champs of the year for the for the U9 through to U13. The reason for these club champs is to give all our nippers an avenue to test themselves in a safe and controlled environment giving them an experience in competing in the various facets of surf. The results are gathered and compiled to get age group club champs and also we acknowledge the strongest of each of the disciplines at their age.
I cannot be strong enough in saying this is not our primary objective in running these competing days. It’s about promoting and encouraging all our nippers to have a go and to test themselves and push themselves a little out of their comfort zones to compete fairly and to stay within the rules. Also to learn about taking part is more important than standing on the side lines so please keep this in mind.
Can I also remind everyone (especially enthusiastic parents) the same thing I say every year, there will be NO UNCLE TOBY CONTRACTS OR SPONSORSHIP DEALS given out. This is a kids sport and before you chastise, remember its hard work for them and it’s certainly not easy. Good luck to everyone competing!
Can I remind everyone up until after Christmas all training is for U8 to U13 only.
Thank you in advance for your support in this matter. Please make sure all kids sign on and off from all training sessions. Due to the outstanding participation numbers at training sessions we have to implement a sign in and out for all sessions from now on. The responsibility will lie on the parent and Nipper to sign in and off. You will be required to sign on to your sessions in your age group folder before the training and then sign out after the training the folders will be on a table outside the boat shed before and after board sessions and will be with the beach coaches for beach sessions. Please be aware this is done for the safety of all our nippers if you fail at signing off after a session you will be suspended from all training for a week.
Can I also remind all nippers must have their AGE CAP and HI VIS VEST  for all training sessions and that training is for those keen to improve their skills. If your nipper’s attitude is not right and messing around or not listening this will not be tolerated and our coaches will be asking nippers to sit out session if they feel this is the case.

Our under 10's in the water on Sunday!

Well done to everyone that competed at last weekends carnival at Mullaloo, please see results below.
Last Sunday we had over 50 Youth do the Club Swim, while most joined in with the Youth beach and water activities, about 20 went on to perform water safety for the nipper groups.
Dont forget that at the end of the Youth session all boards must be washed and put away safely in the boat shed.
Thanks to Jeremy and Ian and their parent helpers to help run the Youth session.
Amy Harrison stepped up and helped those youth that are not used to the boards, Amy did entry and board techniques with them so Thanks Amy:-)
The Dolphin group on Saturday mornings are looking for helpers so if you are free on Saturday mornings come down and join in.
This week its back to normal with the Youth group so hope to see everyone there.
