Junior News
It was brilliant to have our Under Nine Green caps and Under 8 White Caps finish the 2019/20 season off on Sunday afternoon.
Even with the weather, we had a great turn out. Thank you to all the families that we're able to attend thank you for supporting the event
It was great to see Luke and Golly along with their team of excellent assistant age managers present the nippers with medals certificates and vouchers for the season.
Thank you to Amanda and the staff that look after the crew. Cheers to Muzz and Aiden for cooking the hotdogs and Jono for helping to prepare the rolls.
This weekend we have the U11, U12 , and U13 sundowner. I'm looking forward to seeing you all down from 3 pm with presentations starting at 4 pm. It's essential to complete the season for these groups and give a conclusion to the season.
If you've missed all the information, Jess has posted on our social media by some chance, Sorrento registrations are open for families to commit for the 2020/21 season. You can do it online if you also like the club has a payment plan option for any families that may find it easier to rejoin. Please check with Jess if you have any issues or questions about membership.

(Maintenance Crew)
We are looking for new members to join this team! If you have spare time on your hands; wish to socialize, then join a dynamic group of club members who volunteer their time to assist with maintenance issues around the club to help keep running costs down. We'd love to hear from you.
Sorrento Dolphins
At Sorrento SLSC we encourage inclusivity, one of the many activities we provide is a program called the Sorrento SLSC Dolphins. This program is a special needs inclusion program catering for ages between 6 and adults. The Dolphins run Saturday mornings during the surf club season between 10am and 12 noon. The Dolphins’ first season was 2013, starting with 6 participants and 5 volunteers. last season we had 16 participants and up to 18 volunteers.
The participants enjoy activities like flags, sprints, swimming, board, wade, and surf skills. They learn signals, basic rescue techniques (with both board and tubes), and basic first aid. They are encouraged to volunteer and embrace the club spirit. Each session is finished with a sausage sizzle and socializing between participants, parents/carers, and volunteers.
If you would like to join up please contact Jess on admin@sorrentoslsc.org.au

There is a lot of work ongoing at the moment to plan for the upcoming season. The Youth Committee will meet this coming weekend to agree the start date and program for Youth this season. As well, we are working on a date for the End of Season wind up. Once we have these dates locked down, they will be communicated with you.
We are looking getting a “Focus Group” of the Youth together to provide input and ideas to maintain and improve Youth participation in Patrols. This provides a great opportunity to share your views and ideas. The session will take place one morning over the weekend, and will include breakfast. If you are interested in participating in this Group, please email me at clubdevelopmentdirector@sorrentoslsc.org.au
