Sunday 13th June 2021 – Youth Ski Development Squad
We will not be running the normal 8.30am Sunday Session on Sunday, June 13th . On this day we hope to have all of you join the Ski coaches / mentors in a river paddle challenge! This is a flat-water river course, entry is super easy, and the event is only as competitive as you want to make it. This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in a 6km Novice Course or 11km Short Course. We will be taking the Club Trailer with Ski’s to the Challenge.
As a guideline on your regular Sunday Sessions you are all paddling over 6km! The 6km course is well within your capabilities and will be a great hit out to build endurance, confidence and we will ensure we have mentors on the water with you. We would love to see you at this challenge. Please RSVP to this email to allow me to allocate ski’s. They will be allocated on a first in basis.

Over the long weekend, the Boaties crew in total ventured to Albany for the Annual Surf Craft Challenge. The weather at the start was less than perfect, to say the least, but all crews took up the challenge and finished the 12.5km course.

Results were

Male Crews
(160 years)
Posties - 5th  place
Silverbacks - 7th place
Ladies Crews

(Open Division)
Gypseas - 4th place

(160 years)
Aquaholics 7th place

These were very good efforts from our crews as each crew had rowers doing the race for the first time.
At our presentations later in the day, Luke Ferrier was awarded the Boatie of the Year award which is voted on by his peers. Congratulations Luke who also passed his level 3 Sweeps ticket.
We will now regather for the new season and start building for the Aussies to be held here next year.
Yours in boats,
