Our speaker Kirk Brown was named a member of the International Garden Communicator’s Hall of Fame in 2021. He loves to work in his own garden and he loves to visit gardens. Garden club members in the mid-Atlantic area and beyond have long known that his knowledge and speaking style are both entertaining and educational. His talk for us will be “Recreating Eden.” He will use Philadelphia as an historical and geographical centering image to explore ornamental horticulture in America. Across 340 years of plant exploration and garden introductions, Philadelphia provides the sum of all plant experiences. Stroll through a gardener’s highlight of over-plantings, record-plantings, and missed-plantings. From John Bartram’s first public botanical garden to 21st century lights, cameras and action, this travelogue is not to be missed entertainment. Because he crafts each lecture separately, he has asked that we not record his presentation.
We had hoped that most registrations would be through our website, but with the delay in its launch, treasurer and registrar Marianne Dodge is accepting checks through the mail. You will want to act fast to be sure she receives it. The Zoom Link will be sent by Ellen Jackson. If you have not received the link by October 25, let Marianne know.
If you have the registration form emailed by your club president, you may use it. If you do not have the form, you may clearly write the information needed on a paper and mail it with your $10 check. All that is needed is your name, your garden club, and your legible email address. Her address is:
Marianne Dodge, Registrar, GCFM 2022 Fall Conference, 17 Kelley Rd, Falmouth ME 04105
