This month marks a huge milestone for Athena Racing. We haven’t celebrated a year, yet we are celebrating some incredible feats!
On February 21st, we will be receiving the prestigious “Outstanding Engineering Project of the Year” award from the San Diego County Engineers Council. In its 69th year, this lauded award has be given to big corporations such as Cubic, Northrup Grumman, HP, and many others that you will instantly recognize. It is such an honor for our program to be included among this list of engineering leaders! You are invited to attend and we would love to see you there! But hurry, the deadline to purchase your seat is February 14th.
We also welcome new board members to our organization. During the week of the 17th we will introduce our new Directors and Advisors and showcase their special talents that they are committing to our growth. Our team is dedicated to setting the foundation from which we can grow this program nationally.
Continuing on our path of rapid growth, we are happy to announce new sponsors. During the week of the 17th, we will also highlight companies who have committed the financial support needed to grow our program’s footprint in Southern California.
With three new programs that we are putting into place this summer, the need for committed partners to step forward is paramount. We are changing the lives of young ladies, K-16, who are interested in pursuing STEM careers in the men’s world of automotive, motorsports and transportation. Help us grow our program’s reach by connecting us to corporations and individuals who want to get involved.
The week of February 17th – 21st holds an incredible abundance of announcements! Follow us on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook to hear the big news! And do us a huge favor… share it with your friends!

Thank you for supporting our team!

The San Diego Auto Show was an incredible experience for the team! And unbeknownst to us, we would receive a visit from our favorite fan!

After meeting her at the “World of Work” event at Barnes & Noble, she had her mother put the date on the calendar so that she could meet all of our drivers.

“It keeps me motivated as a team spokeswoman, when I have the chance to meet young girls at events like the San Diego International Auto Show. They are as excited about the cars as I was at their age. It makes me realize how important it is for me to keep striving for more and to lead by example,” said Marissa.
A huge thank you to Barry Toepke and the executive team at the New Car Dealers Association for including us in their event!

The Corvette Club welcomed Adeline and Loxley to their January meeting to help raise awareness about the Athena Racing program.

In front of a crowd of over 100 club members, Adeline reiterated the importance of the team and our outreach to other young ladies. “What we are learning and experiencing as the Athena team is allowing me to see and do things that I never imagined. As a future engineer, it is important for me to learn every aspect of the car. Sharing that love with younger girls to inspire them to do something that is not the ‘typical girl thing’ is one of my favorite parts of this program. Their faces light up when they realize that they too can be an engineer, driver or technician and do what we do.”

Is your organization, school or club interested in having Athena Racing visit? Please reach out to our team at to schedule one of our team members to speak.
The SAE Student Workshop in Torrace, CA included race teams from Cal Poly, University of California Irvine, Cal Baptist, Pasadena City College, Cal State Fullerton and USC. Adeline had that chance to shake hands and talk with Gale Bank of Banks Power, Michael Konig of Motivo Engineering and Kevin Fu of Honda Performance Development.

“Wielding an incredible resume, hero card and business card, I watched the faces of these high-powered businessmen brighten with enthusiasm as they talked with her,” said Loxley Browne, CEO of Athena Racing. “Our program provides our team with the comfortable space to learn and practice. Our career development goes beyond what they are experiencing in high school. I then accompany our team members to first introductions and interviews to make what could be their most gut-wrenching experience and easy conversation. Why program your brain for fear when you can program it as a pleasant experience?”
Watch for our March newsletter and our training weekend visits from three contacts that were made at this workshop. We won’t tell you who, but we can guarantee that the team will learn incredible life and career advice from our visitors!
