Partners in Ministry Newsletter

It is such a joy to be able serve you and our Lord Jesus as Associational Director of the CBA. Each week I get to share in what you and your church are doing as you serve God’s Kingdom through the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ.
I also have the joy of working alongside our convention entities to help resource, train, equip, and encourage pastors and churches as they fulfill their mission and purpose in their communities.
In April we were able to host a Church Administrative Seminar that was led by Gerald Farley of the Baptist Convention of NM. Gerald and I work very closely to help churches with their constitution and by-laws, financial issues, and legal questions. Gerald is the “guru” in these areas and I have been able to learn a lot from him to help individuals and churches do their best to ensure that they are aware of and in compliance with the requirements of governmental standards. Too often churches are unaware of those requirements, or “best practices,” that can help them avoid problems that can result in financial loss, penalties, or lawsuits. If you want help or have questions about any of these areas you can give me a call, and if I don’t have the answers you can call Gerald (I have him on speed-dial).
Associational Directors (DOM’s, AMS’s, or however you want to call us) were invited to attend the BCNM State Executive Board meeting on Monday, April 25th. Three of us from around the State were able to attend and hear reports about what is going on through the various divisions with in our State convention. I sat in on the Missions Team meeting and the evening board meeting. What a great atmosphere of cooperation and support I sensed from those who are serving in our State.
I had the joy of preaching at Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church, First Baptist Moriarty, and Monterey Baptist church in April. I am always ready to share God’s Word when needed.
Some of our churches make it a point to pray for CBA churches and other churches in their community on Sunday mornings. What a blessing it is to know that throughout the year your church is being lifted up in prayer by a sister church.
Let me encourage you to look at our website: cbanm.org. Our website has lots of information about how to reserve the Block Party Trailer and the portable baptistries when you need them. We have an interactive map of all our churches and other information about various ministries available to you. On the website you can find information on the Gateway ADVANCE classes for the Fall. These classes are for anyone who would like to continue their education in Christian studies.
Finally, I want to remind you that we are here to serve you and resource you the best we can to help you fulfill the calling and mission God has given to you and your church.
