"Plantations are sites of immense cruelty and violence. We do not allow any event that would overshadow this reality and disrespect the memory of all those who suffered, labored, and died here."
- Joy Banner, PhD, Director of Marketing for Whitney Plantation

Whitney Plantation was recently featured in this beautiful piece in Glamour Magazine, after a social media post brought national attention that Whitney Plantation is not a wedding venue.  Whitney Plantation provides an example of a local business's commitment to address a painful history.

More information on Whitney Plantation can be found at their website.

Many businesses are challenged to reopen safely while complying with regulations.  BRACE For COVID-19 seeks to address this issue with the BRACE Pledge (Business Resilience and Community Education).

The goals of the BRACE Pledge are:
1. Ensure workplace safety
2. Provide tools for addressing noncompliant customers that will take the heat off employees
3. Cut through the noise of sometimes conflicting reopening guides from disparate industry and public health resources
4. Help instill consumer confidence through a potent marketing tool that encourages businesses to do the right thing, and spotlights those who already are.
5. Stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities so we can all safely get back to doing the things we love

Businesses who wish to take the BRACE Pledge can find more information on this FREE program here.
