Uptown Updates

Need an address? Let us know!
This Sunday at Uptown - February 26
As we consider being a people on mission, what does Uptown most need right now? While it’s easy to focus on strategy and action, the Gospel invites us to first become something different. Who we become is more important than what we do. What we most need is for the Gospel of Jesus Christ - His Person and work - to make us new, so that our culture is increasingly changed and remade. Join us for this Gospel Culture series as we spend the first few weeks looking at the rest that Jesus invites us to in Matthew 11:28-30, and then the next several months as we look at the Beatitudes (Matthew 5) and what the Gospel creates in us.
"I Will Give You Rest"
Matthew 11:25-30
Adult Sunday School
We’ll watch the third video from chapter 1 and discuss what it means to have a redemptive influence where God has placed you. How can we pursue this in our own lives? As a church? In our city? What are the risks involved of adopting Kingdom values as opposed to the world’s? Think about what this might look like in both “big” and “small” ways.
Closely related to what we are studying in Adult Sunday School, the Charlotte Institute of Faith and Work is having an open house to share more about their work in our city! Click here to RSVP.
Both Middle School and High School will meet together at the Dyer's house this Sunday! There will be food, fun, a devotional, and then we'll break out into Middle School and High School groups to discuss!

We are thrilled by the generous giving to date! If you would still like to give, the best way to do so at this time is through Uptown's designated giving link (or add “Crates for Ukraine” on the memo line of a check made out to Uptown Church). Check out Crates for Ukraine (CFU) or click the image above for more information!

Exploring Membership is the first step to officially join the Uptown Church family and a required step in our church membership process. The 3 session class is offered periodically throughout the year and the next series starts March 5th. There is no longer a lunch this Sunday. We adjusted the lunch date only to accomodate schedule conflicts with those who had registered. Click below to RSVP!

Uptown Hosts Presbytery this Saturday!
In the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), Uptown's denomination, local churches in a region form a “Presbytery.” The Central Carolina Presbytery, that Uptown is a part of, has a total of 23 local churches. The pastors and ruling elders who represent these churches come together for presbytery meetings quarterly. Uptown is hosting the next meeting this Saturday! Worship begins at 9am. These meetings are open to the public so you are welcome to attend. Jordan will be preaching and Jeremy will be leading worship. Please pray for this time on Saturday!
Did you miss the Vision Dinner?
Check out these details if so!
Click the image above to read a recap email! In addition, anyone (including members) who missed the Vision Dinner is welcome to attend the lunch following service on March 19th (new date!). This lunch caps off the next exploring membership series and focuses on vision so it's a great opportunity to hear from Jordan if you missed the dinner. Click the button below to RSVP to just the lunch!
