STUDY: The COVID-19 Pandemic Has Worsened Risk Factors for Development & Progression of Childhood Obesity

An international team of researchers has found that the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the risk factors for the development and progression of childhood obesity. As societies build back from the pandemic, they recommend a focus on reducing childhood obesity risk factors through equitable, evidence based, and government led action.

 The researchers conclude that governments must focus on childhood obesity risk factors that were increased by the COVID-19 pandemic and take public health action to promote population health and health equity.

2021 Reproductive Health Virtual Conference: Chemicals, Pollution, and Pregnancy
This year’s reproductive environmental health conference will be hosted by the Great Lakes Center for Reproductive and Children’s Environmental Health. Our virtual conference will be held October 15, 2021 from 2:00PM CST to 4:30PM CST. We will discuss the latest, most promising research developments and clinical advancements for reproductive environmental health. Who We Are
The Great Lakes Center for Reproductive and Children's Environmental Health (GLRCEH)  serves as the Region 5 Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (PEHSU) and is funded by EPA and ATSDR. The GLRCEH serves Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
