🌹 🖥️ TWC-NYC June General Meeting 🖥️ 🌹

A Workers Inquiry and the Future of TWC-NYC
Thursday, June. 23rd @7pm ET at the People's Forum

TWC is back for our first in-person general meeting since the start of the pandemic!

First, we'll re-introduce TWC and talk about the history of the chapter.

Second, several of our members attended the recent Labor Notes conference in Chicago, and will do a report-back on their experience there!

Then we'll break to do a Worker's Inquiry, an exercise where we discuss our working conditions (and what we want to do about them) in small groups.

The rest of the meeting will be an opportunity to brainstorm as a group what we want the future of our chapter to look like.

Bring your thoughts, reflections, and aspirations.

Bootcamp Exploitation Call
Thursday July 7th, 7PM ET (zoom link to come!)

Developer bootcamps have grown massively in popularity over the past decade. Many workers attend these programs in an attempt to switch to a new career, supplement their traditional education, or enter the tech industry without going through a traditional higher education program. While these programs can help workers jump into a higher paying job and industry, they are also marred heavily by student and worker exploitation.

Come join us for an open virtual discussion about how bootcamps exploit students, how employers exploit recent bootcamp grads, and what workers can do to better protect themselves.

The TWC Code of Conduct is in effect for all TWC NYC meetings.
