Since the summer vacation is coming to an end and the new school year is not far away; We are pleased to announce a range of artistic and cultural services and activities that AFCA provides to students inside and outside school buildings. 

First, The Education Program: 

This program includes workshops of Theater, Visual arts, Cooking, creative activities. Each of the previous workshops lasts for 45 minutes. The language used in these workshops varies between the three languages; Arabic, English and French, depending on the school. 

Secondly, The Cultural program:

In this program AFCA will present shows by professional artists to students in their schools. In case the school doesn't have a space, the students can be accompanied through well organised school trips to theaters and cultural centres around Cairo to attend performances presented by Egyptian and foreign artists.

Hakawy visits Jesuits Cairo.. 

As part of the events that AFCA organises in the context of Hakawy Festival10th anniversary 2020, we are thrilled to announce the launching of a mini - Hakawy festival which is scheduled to take place in Cairo on Thurs.17th and Fri.18th of this September at El Nahda - Jesuits Cairo Association. 

The performances engaged in this edition are ranging from object theatre in "The Bird" by Khadija El-Dessouky to modern dance in "Noussa Adventures" by Noon Creative Enterprise.

Great success for Hakawy in El-Minya..

In this video, we share with you some wonderful shots from the festival atmosphere that was so missed.. 

Hakawy Out of Cairo's first tour  was launched in cooperation with the AUEED El-Minya at Takween Hotel in Abu Korkas village. The event took place on Friday and Saturday 21st and 22nd of last August.During this edition, we gave much care for the precautions recommended by the Ministry of Health, in order to guarantee the safety and wellness of all attendees; the public, artists and organizers of the festival. This local version of Hakawy Festival has integrated five Egyptian performances for professional artists that the audience has enjoyed and interacted with massively.

The festival has also attracted a number of journalists to write about its success such as
Al-Ahram GateMasrawy, Al-Bawaba News, and The Nation Press.

Hakawy Festival out of Cairo is a project funded by European Union, in cooperation with the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC). 

Two more tours are on the way to Port Said and Alexandria starting from this September,  stay tuned for more details!

Samia Jaheen at Banati Association..

On the 17th of last August, Banati Association located in the 6th of October City welcomed the Egyptian storyteller Samia Jaheen who presented a variety of interesting stories to Banati children, as part of the Egyptian Focus program supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Egypt.

Bangkok International Children's Theater webinar..

The founder and artistic director of Hakawy International Arts Festival for  Children, Mohamed El-Ghawy, was invited to participate in the virtual webinar "Play from Home" organized on the 30th of August by Bangkok International Children's Theater 2020.

A number of festival directors and programmers have gathered to discuss the "New Normal" playground and the future of TYA festivals after the spread of COVID-19 worldwide, and how the latest events would affect the arts field and the whole society.

Israa Ghazali, a guest in PACE..

Israa Gazali, an associated artist to AFCA,  has been invited to a conversation organised by the PACE (Pan-African Creative Exchange) on Friday August 28th. With other artists from different parts of Africa Israa has highlighted the main purpose of performing arts industry from her point of view, talking about the developed version of her first performance "The Elephant in the Room", "Zaki", which is based on the interactive dialogue between Israa and her audience about donkeys world, sharing her experience when she has first performed it in El-Minya in the framework of Hakawy out of Cairo project.

Hakawy International Arts festival for Children 2021.. 

Six months have already passed since the closure of Hakawy International Festival 2020, and here’s AFCA started to get ready for the 11th edition that’s scheduled to take place from 11 to 20 March 2021.
