Chris' Resignation and Farewell Picnic
Many of you on Sunday would have heard the sad news that Chris Roberts has resigned and will be stepping down from his position as youth minister of St Matthew’s.
Chris has served here at St Matthew’s faithfully for more than 6 years, and has an even longer history with the St Matthew’s family. Chris and his ministry will be missed. He has left his mark on a generation of our youth and youth leaders.
We plan to celebrate and thank Chris, Karen, Jonathan and Caleb at a Church picnic on June 27. This will be a wonderful moment to show our appreciation to the whole family, and I do hope you can all make it. More details soon.
If you would like to make a contribution to a gift for Chris please email

We thank Laura for her hard work designing the words and pictures so beautifully to help tell the story of St Matthew's for the past year.

Women's Winter Brunch
It was a perfect winter day that greeted the first St Matthew's women's event since covid.  Praise God for the over 80 women who fought the rain to come into the warmth of our beautifully decorated hall, to share a cuppa and a chat, enjoy the warm pastries and fresh fruit, and delight in hearing God's word through the testimony of Jacinta Patterson, the address from Eryn-May and the dulcet tones of Hannah Coopes.  We thank all the wonderful women who served us all on the day and in preparation, and we look forward to the next event on 11 September.

"Trained in WA"
On Friday night former rector of St Matthew’s Kanishka Raffel was made Archbishop of Sydney. There was a great WA contingent in Sydney to be part of the event.

And there was an even greater number gathered at St Matthew’s. Almost 70 of us gathered to watch and pray (and then eat) in celebration. Please pray for Kanishka and Cailey in this important role.
