Experience St Matthew's Everywhere Together
It’s fast becoming the best way to experience St Matthew’s Everywhere. Lots of groups have sprung up using Zoom (or other video-conferencing apps) to enjoy a post church chat with the St Matthew’s family. Groups have formed that meet at different times to pray, reflect, and encourage each other after watching the weekly video. BYO coffee and chocolate biscuits!
If you would like to join a group, start a group, or have a group you would like others to join, please contact us at hello@stmatthews.com.au and we can help you connect.
Thank you for your patience
Thank you for your patience with St Matthew’s Together last Sunday. It was purely a technical matter as we learn better how to navigate all the technology involved. We are committed to making sure that both St Matthew’s Together and St Matt’s Kids are online and ready to go on a Sunday morning, even for all you early risers. Please keep praying for all the team as we learn new skills no one taught us at Bible college!
We would love to keep sharing how our church family are staying connected and caring for one another. Send your photos to hello@stmatthews.com.au or use the hashtag #stmatthewseverywhere on Facebook and Instagram. Here are some pictures of Zoom chats we have received so far.
Messages from our Mission Partners
Catching up with the Pattersons in Bulgaria
As in the rest of the world, life has changed significantly for us in Bulgaria with the Coronavirus crisis.
Due to our location in Europe and the smaller capacity of the health system, Bulgaria has taken early action to impose restrictions. Schools and most businesses have been closed for nearly 2 weeks and inter-city travel is restricted. All of our regular ministry activities have been cancelled or gone online, and various planned meetings and conferences have also been cancelled. Future plans, including our planned home assignment, are up in the air as we all take things day by day.
We are all at home and we are thankful for a comfortable place to live (with heating, as winter has returned with a lot of snow!). Katie and the girls are home schooling and Dan is preparing his next course, which will be done online. We are continuing to keep in touch with and support those we minister to by regular phone calls and messages. Katie has given her name as a volunteer at the hospital to be called on if required.
We thank the Father for the way that we see his ch in Bulgaria being driven to pr and to his word in a new and real way. We thank Him that as our earthly routines and securities are stripped back we are given the opportunity to truly lean on Him and consider where our joy and hope lie.
Please pr for the people of Bulgaria to turn to the Father in this time, that he would work in their hearts, that believers would be ready and excited to proclaim the hope that we have, and that our internet connectedness would be used for spreading hope and not fear.
Please pr against the spirit of fear, and pr for discernment for us as we minister to people particularly affected by this.
Pr that the Lord would show mercy in the stopping of this virus. Pr for the Bulgarian health system as the situation develops and pray that if Katie is called to work in the hospital, that she would be placed where the Father wills and would work in his strength.
Pr for Father’s spirit to lead Daniel as he plans and delivers the Systematics course online. Pr that although the online format is not ideal, that the Father would use the course to develop and train leaders in his Word.
Pr that we would be growing in our own faith and daily trust so that we may be able to minister effectively to others in this time of uncertainty.
Thank you for your ongoing pr and support in this time. We join also in pr for Australia and each of you in this time.
In the Son,
Dan, Katie, Svetlana and Mimi

Ministry Opportunities
In this season there are new ministry opportunities and needs for our Church family. We are particularly in need of people with technology skills such as video production, editing, websites or other areas that might help to connect us at this time. We are also in need of equipment for those things if you are able to lend it.
As ministries to our church family begin in a whole range of new ways, we would love to hear from you how you think you might serve. If you can serve or even if you have an idea for serving, email us at hello@stmatthews.com.au or call
(08) 9381 2640.
How can we help?
As a church, St Matthew's is looking to ways we can care for all in need during this time. If you find yourself in need physically, spiritually, or socially, please reach out to us. Email us at hello@stmatthews.com.au or call (08) 9381 2640.
