Dear reader,

Thank you to everyone who's sent in items for KIT throughout 2022.  (The deadline for January's edition is 28th December.)

It's time to grab a cuppa (or glass!) and read the last Kitty of this year...

Best,

John Powell

We have decided not to send Xmas cards this year so instead have given a food parcel to the food bank.

We wish all our friends a very Happy Xmas plus good wishes for the New Year.

Merry Christmas from Carol-Anne & Nigel
at Four All Seasons Catering

We think of all our lovely customers that supported us during the pandemic and we will be forever grateful.

All the best for 2023.

Clare Boarder writes:

This year I've decided to make a donation to the MSA Trust rather than send cards, as Nigel was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy three months before his death.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and thank you for your continued support over the past nine months.

Wendy Malkinson writes:

There is a typo in Quiz 1 (see Kitty #66).

Question 35 should be 2013 and not 2003.

[Thanks to Mark and Liz who spotted this! Ed.]

I would like to express my Heartfelt Thanks to the people who supported me at the Charity Christmas Fair and making a Grand Total of £750 by buying my planted bulbs and ordering bug houses which Mike Dunning donated proceeds to this charity the NSPCC.

Sadly abuse of children is on the rise again. I know every little helps. Childline can be supported even more by downloading, for £4, Sooty & Friends' single "The Most Magical Time of the Year": https://magicaltime.co.uk.
It is very sweet and brings back memories!!

Thank you again and wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Coffee Club

Jean McVeigh writes:

A huge thank you to Helen and her small band of willing volunteers who run the Coffee Club on a Friday & Saturday morning. It is a great initiative set up and managed by Helen.

It's a great place for the Mums to have a coffee & chat after they've dropped the children at school. The couples & singles to get together for a good old chinwag & a slice of cake. The yoga group to congregate after their session and a lovely way to spend an hour or so relaxing & making new friends.

Thank you Helen - a great initiative and a wonderful facility for the village.

Fladbury & Cropthorne Bellringers

After months of practice, on Sunday 18th December at Cropthorne, we rang for our first Sunday service since the band was reformed after the pandemic.

We'd like to thank everyone for their support, especially our teachers and bellringers from other towers who have given so generously of their time.

We've many months & years of training to complete as we continue to learn but we're delighted that the band has been able to reach this milestone.

Seasons Greetings to you all.

I'm planning to walk another 26.2 miles in January for Prostate Cancer UK as part of their Run the Month campaign.

As you know I suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2018 which left me disabled. I've had to relearn to walk.

Friday 2nd December

Wreath making at The Old Schoolroom in Charlton. What a lovely way to start the Christmas celebrations. Over twenty five of us got together to make wreaths and table decorations in the refurbished schoolroom.

Tuesday 6th December

We invited members of our community who live by themselves to a Christmas Lunch at the Cropthorne and Charlton Village Hall. We cooked Christmas turkey with all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding and apple crumble. Tea, coffee and mince pies followed. A glass of wine and entertainment by the year 2 pupils from Abbey School in Pershore made it a great start to Christmas. Thank you for all of the lovely comments about this event. I'm sure there will be more in the future.

Merry Christmas everyone from Village People

As always, thank you for reading.
