Mark G. Sellers’ Foundation provides $100,000 grant to Arrowhead High School
The Freeman
TOWN OF MERTON — The Arrowhead School District announced Wednesday that Mark G. Sellers, founder of MGS Manufacturing Group, has provided Arrowhead High School with a five-year matching grant totaling $100,000 through the Mark G. Sellers Foundation.
The MGS Foundation was established in 2002 to provide financial assistance to students and educational institutions through scholarships and equipment donations. Arrowhead’s manufacturing department approached the MGS Foundation to partner with the “High Tech High” initiative that was launched in the spring of 2020 in the pursuit of CNC equipment. They asked for a partnership and commitment over the next five years.
“We are fortunate, here in Wisconsin, to have a long and important history in our country’s road to manufacturing excellence,” Sellers said in a statement. “With the remarkable advent of new manufacturing processes to extend the core disciplines of machining, molding, and fabricating, there has never been a more exciting and advantageous time for a career in making things. We have a great respect and appreciation for the Arrowhead Union High School Technology and Education Team and the learning environment they have created for their students.”
Arrowhead High School has been on a journey since 2012 to transform its engineering and manufacturing program. According to the district’s press release, the faculty and students of Arrowhead High School wish to thank Sellers and the business partners who have contributed to the “High Tech High” Initiative.
Contributions include 5-year commitments of:
■ MGS Foundation — $20,000
■ D&H Industries — $5,000
■ Bradley Corporation — $5,000
■ Frentzel Products — $2,500
■ Brelie Gear — $2,500
■ Bryant Products — $2,500
■ Integrity Wire EDM — $2,500
■ Dorner Manufacturing — $1,000
■ Dynamic Tool — $1,000
■ Sjoberg — $1,000
■ Versevo — $2,500
■ Urban Manufacturing — $1,000
■ Medline — $2,000 Arrowhead High School continues to look for support to complete this initiative. Anyone interested in supporting the department can contact Tech Ed Department Lead Teacher Anthony Christian at Christian@arrowheadschools. org for more information.
