Summary of ARMAC's Activities

2019 will be an important year for ARMAC as we look to increase our mine action programming and bring our projects to the wider ASEAN region. In early April, we held the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action event which brought ASEAN university students together to learn about the dangers of mines and explosive remnants of war, and we were pleased to see the students share this knowledge to their communities in their home countries. (Video of the event can be viewed here).

The beginning of the year has also seen ARMAC further its current partner engagement, and increase its communication with new partners as we seek out further exciting opportunities. Among our meetings and events were those held with the ASEAN Secretariat, the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority, Norway, New Zealand and many others. (See all our events here).

Moving forward ARMAC has a number of upcoming programmes that will support our mission including a project funded by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund, which aims to enhance mine risk education in ASEAN countries. A number of other programmes are currently being evaluated and we look forward to sharing these with you soon.
