A Word From Jane

As we come to the end of Week 6, I am beginning to feel a bit sad about all the 4th year students that will be graduating, especially those of you who have frequented the library regularly.  Then there are our 12 graduating work study students whom we have worked with and depended upon, in some cases for four years.  We will miss you!  It is a time of mixed emotions; sadness that people will be moving on and great pride in your growth and accomplishments!  Fortunately, we still have four weeks to go and for the time being, I'm just going to enjoy being with you all!!  Come see us in the library whenever you can!!

Student Book Reviews
Love and Addiction by Stanton Peele and Archie Brodsky

Though the book’s many references to studies and “current society” are outdated as it was published in 1975, the focus is still worth a look: human codependency and factors that alter our reality. By redefining and broadening the term “addiction,” the authors help us question stigmas, human behavior, and the root of a need for an escape.

This gothic novel details the tragic love story of characters Catherine Earnshaw and her childhood friend, Heathcliff. Their impossible relationship eventually leads Heathcliff to spiral downward, inspiring a need for revenge within him. Full of intense emotions, beautiful settings, and supernatural scenes, Wuthering Heights is the perfect book to curl up with on a rainy spring day.
