WANTED: COURIER/DELIVERY/TAXI DRIVERS FOR MINEHEAD'S SHOPAPPY PLATFORM

Minehead businesses are in the process of joining Shopappy. Ordering through the website, customers will be able to collect their purchases from the shops, from click and collect points in Minehead (being arranged at the moment) or busineses can do deliveries themselves.

The next phase in the development of the platform is a local delivery service - customers will be able to order from several shops, pay one delivery charge, and have all items delivered at the same time!

Shopappy have asked us to look for suitable local couriers or taxi drivers who might be interested. All arrangements are made direct with Shopappy and the first step is to let us have your details and we will arrange for Shopappy to contact you - send us an email and we will start the ball rolling.
Working with Minehead Town Council, Minehead BID has contributed towards the new planters at the railway station to brighten up this space - watch out for news of more improvements to come!

Restaurants, pubs and cafes will get automatic freedoms to provide takeaway services for another year.

  • Government extends temporary freedom for pubs, restaurants and cafes to provide food takeaways by another year
  • Freedoms enabling outdoor markets also extended in further boost for hospitality sector, enabling them to plan ahead for the economic recovery with certainty
  • New protections for cultural venues, measures enabling emergency building such as Nightingale hospitals extended, and space standards introduced for new homes built through ‘permitted development’
Restaurants, pubs and cafes will get automatic freedoms to provide takeaway services for another year, Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick has announced today (11 November 2020).

The measures help give these businesses the confidence they need to continue to serve customers and retain their staff. It will also help them adapt to longer-term changes they may wish to introduce, such as serving their customers from market stalls.

The National Careers Service continues to support the country by bringing jobseekers closer to vacancies and giving them the tools and techniques they need to apply.  To that end, the Department for Education is bringing back the Virtual Jobs Fair campaign, taking place Friday 13-20 November.

The Virtual Jobs Fair campaign, promoted and delivered through social media channels, will virtually visit the nine different regions throughout the event and give employers in those regions a chance to post current opportunities. We will then promote these opportunities via the national and regional social media channels during the relevant slot for citizens to view vacancies in their area.

As well as promoting vacancies, careers advisers will be delivering webinars and workshops, giving the necessary careers advice and guidance to help jobseekers make successful applications by helping them improve their CVs and to prepare for interviews.

The jobs hours in our area will run at 1pm-4pm.

People can follow @NationalCareers and National Careers Service to find out more, or register here to access the event for free.
