What is the Best Pigging Speed for Cleaning?

In order to determine the best speed for cleaning pigging, first you will need to know your pipeline. Below information will contribute greatly to your decision and engineering calculation.

  1. Pipeline Cleaning and Inspection History
  2. Latest Pipeline Operating Parameters
  3. Pipeline Information

And how any of this information will help you to determine the best Pigging Speed for Cleaning?

Pipeline Cleaning and Inspection History will tell you the actual condition of the pipeline. The history will reveal what are the tools that have pass through, speed, type and volume of debris present and many more. These records are the best and accurate information for you to consider in your decision making.

Latest Pipeline Operating Parameter and Pipeline Information will provide the latest data for your engineering calculation therefore your calculation result will be as accurate as possible. This information also will prevent you from making the wrong judgement.

The information gathered will help you to determine the right type of pig, material, size, weight and cleaning frequency. Once you have all of the information then you can calculate the pigging speed for your cleaning program.

So, what is the best pigging speed for cleaning? The answer is for you to decide based on the information available.

Another Conductors Stabilized!!!

Earlier this year at the start of Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO2.0) and during monsoon season our highly trained team have embarked on a journey to offshore in peninsular water. Their task was to stabilize our client’s conductors.

The installation was purposely planned to be during monsoon season so that we can observe the viable result between before and after the installation. Before the installation, the conductor has a visible movement therefore frequent maintenance and new wedges replacement were required. This is due to lateral wave movement which causes an impact on conductors and caissons, resulting in fatigue and fracturing on the assets.

The cost-effective solution from our principal 2STABILISE AS from Norway was used for the installation; 2STABILISE Polyurethane Spacer (2PS) is a Polyurethane based method that improves HSE factors on board the steel jacket.

To our expectation, the installation was successful without a hiccup. From then on, our client should have a worry-free be it during monsoon or not, and it a maintenance-free for the next years on their stabilized assets.
