Winter 2022 Newsletter

Who We Are

A national group of community college educators who, like you, teach HCA, PSWs and CCAs. Our goal is to collaborate on standardization of education for this sector and to connect with our educational colleagues across the country.

Executive Team

We currently have 19 Regional Representatives who make up our Executive team. These dedicated volunteers have, despite having challenging teaching portfolios committed to building the CACCE network and championing the plight of support workers in Canada.

We encourage you to visit our website to see who your Regional Representative is and to peruse the report they created to outline PSW/HCA/CCA education and work in your province/territory.

2021 News

2021 was a stellar year in that we reinforced our regional representation to include all regions of Canada (except Quebec). We tripled our membership database and will focus on strengthening the connections with our members in 2022.

Educational Resources

One of our mandates was to create an online repository of resources for all our members. What you see now is only the beginning and we ask that you consider sending us links/resources you have found helpful when teaching students. We are also in the process of finalizing our secure folder which will house assignments/rubrics/answers. Send your submission to info@cacce.ca

National Occupational Standards for PSWs

Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) provided funding to Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) to develop National Occupational Standards for PSWs/HCAs. Initiated in early 2021 this project is underway including a working group and advisory committee.
