We are happy to announce that we are joining forces with Valley Industrial Association (VIA).
Meet the NEW GCAMP! October 20, 2021
In 2010, a few dedicated and concerned manufacturing companies in the Golden Corridor were aware that the workforce skills gap was an increasing problem and something had to be done. Together they talked with supporting municipalities about what they collectively could do and thus The Golden Corridor Advanced Manufacturing Partnership was born.
In 2014, GCAMP officially became a 501c3 nonprofit charity. With the continued support of the municipalities of Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, and Elk Grove Village along with the many Sponsor partners, GCAMP has made building the manufacturing workforce its mission. Connecting with students and educators to promote manufacturing career pathways, assisting industry leaders and workforce partners, working in tandem with our municipal partners to help the Golden Corridor grow, are just a few highlights.
Stop the presses! It's 2021 and here we GROW again!
We are happy to announce that we are joining forces with Valley Industrial Association (VIA). Press Release Here.
Valley Industrial Association was founded over 100 years ago and has over 200 members in 8 Chicagoland counties. VIA's mission is to be a value-added partner to its members; providing strategic resources, relevant educational programming, and networking opportunities that help their valued members meet or exceed their business objectives. For more information about Valley Industrial Association, visit them online at https://www.ValleyIndustrialAssociation.org.
Kathleen Burley will continue on as GCAMP Executive Director and will be the new VP of Education & Workforce Development for Valley Industrial Association. Kathleen believes that this new partnership will have a positive impact on the entire region by strengthening the developing workforce initiatives. Current and future sponsors in the Golden Corridor area, as well as the expanded region, will see many value-added benefits to address manufacturing pain points they currently struggle with. Stay tuned for more details.
The GREATER CHICAGO Advanced Manufacturing Partnership
We will always love the Golden Corridor and will continue our work with industry and education. We are still GCAMP, but re-branding to reflect the expanded area, which spans from Cook to DeKalb County and from McHenry to Will County.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of our amazing Sponsors, our workforce and industry partners, and especially our current GCAMP Board, who will all be a part of the new and expanded GCAMP Board of Directors. The dedication and passion that everyone has shown for our mission has had a direct impact on student career pathways in manufacturing, in the education curriculum, and most importantly, have brought new employees to manufacturing companies in the Golden Corridor. We have made a start, but there is much more to be done. We are excited about this next chapter and hope that you will come along on our journey, our mission to build a sustainable workforce for the GREATER CHICAGO area. Please join us!
