Who can apply?

This programme will support clubs and organisations based in Gloucestershire including charities, social enterprises, Community Interest Companies and other not-for-profit organisations. Grants will be awarded to organisations with a turnover less than £75,000 with priority given to those groups with a turnover less than £25,000.

Organisations who are unable to demonstrate that the pandemic has affected them either operationally or financially should not apply.

Please ensure your group satisfies all of the criteria and conditions outlined within the Made by Sport Grant Guidelines (download HERE)

Active Communities Covid-19 Recovery Fund

The fund aims to reach community groups and local organisations, to help minimise the impact of coronavirus on the activity levels of people from under-represented groups.
It will enable community groups working with target audiences including – Lower Socio-Economic Groups, Black, Asian Minority Ethnic Communities, Disabled People and People with Long-Term Health Conditions – to continue to exist and engage with their communities with a view to keeping them active during both the lockdown and recovery stages.

To be eligible for this funding, you must be a constituted community group/organisation (or have a constituted group able to receive funds on your behalf) and you should hold existing relationships with the target audience, and have a clear line of sight to physical activity delivery (it may not necessarily be the groups’ primary purpose)

Funding can be used to support:
  • Hardship, to enable community groups to continue to exist in the next 6 months
  • Adapt, to enable groups to remain connected and keep participants active in the COVID-19 lockdowns and recovery phase
  • Support, provide advice and cover costs of training
  • Connectivity, increasing resilience, capacity and capability

If interested in this funding, please submit an Expression of Interest form and a member of staff from Active Gloucestershire will contact you to discuss further.
Please note that ‘Active Communities Covid19 recovery fund’ is a localised name for the national investment ‘Tackling Inequalities Fund’. The fund is being distributed by Active Gloucestershire to community groups on behalf of Sport England. All applications for funding are subject to Sport England’s final approval.
Deadline: Rolling
