August 5th-6th: I visited Spanish Springs Vineyard with winemaker Marbue Marke.
August 7th-8th: Oceano wines was poured at the parties celebrating the release of Ross Golan’s album, “The Wrong Man” (on Interscope Records), in Sonoma and San Francisco, respectively.
August 15th: I will be presenting my perspective as a woman on building, branding, marketing and running East and West Coast wineries. The session, entitled, “Come Hell or High Water,” is part of the Society of Wine Educators 43rd annual conference taking place in Washington, D.C.
August 21st: The San Luis Obispo (SLO) Wine Collective, a trade group that promotes the unique characteristics of the wines made by some 30 producers in the area (Oceano recently became a member), will be hosting an event for the media at The Spoon Trade. I will be pouring and discussing Oceano at this renowned Grover Beach restaurant.
September 7th: Oceano’s 2018 Pinot Noir (release date September 1st) and Chardonnay will be the featured pours at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s annual Boating Party Fundraising Gala. The elegant sit-down affair will take place under tents at historic Navy Point in St. Michaels, MD.
September 9th-20th (exact dates to be determined): We begin harvest of our 2019 chardonnay and pinot noir.
September 21st: I will be pouring Oceano wines at the Catalina Island Women’s Forum Wine Festival. It is the event’s 23rd year, and will feature more than 70 wineries. Some of the proceeds will go toward supporting local mentoring and scholarship programs for women.
