The Province of BC has granted 'Regional Designation' to the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District.
Producers may now apply for Class D licenses, in order to slaughter livestock on-farm and sell directly to consumers, restaurants, and retail markets within the Regional District.
See the news release here.
Congratulations to the Alberni Farmers' Institute and the many individuals and organizations who have contributed to this landmark achievement!
