Newsletter March 2019

The qualifier season got off to a shaky start in some regions, with heavy rains forcing the rescheduling of Qualifier 1 in both North West and Gauteng. This presented some challenges with regards to finding new dates in an already busy schedule, but we made it work...Free State led the way with their first qualifier on 20th February, followed a few days later by North West and the Western Cape (who held their first ever MAASA qualifier - well done everyone) and Gauteng finally squeezed in their first qualifier on 3rd March.  The rescheduling means that the next qualifiers take place almost immediately after the first, so it has been a busy time for all involved in organizing. Thank you to everyone for working so hard to make this happen, we should be back on our planned schedule within a couple of weeks!

MAASA presented a very successful Mounted Archery clinic at SA Horse Trails on 16-17th February. Thank you to Karen Bands for presenting this clinic, and Deirdre Janse van Rensburg for assisting.
Everyone had a great time over the two days, learning the basics of horseback archery.  And the best of all - we have welcomed new members to the MAASA family!
Please remember our upcoming AGM on 13th April 2019, to be held at Koinos Estate (home of Deon and Deirdre Janse van Rensburg).
This AGM will be held in conjunction with the SA Open / MAASA GP Q2 / SANESA GP Q2.
We would love to see as many MAASA members there as possible; this is an opportunity for you to have your say, make suggestions and be part of the decisions that will affect the way in which MAASA moves forward. More detailed communication will be shared closer to the time, but in the meantime, make a note in your diaries:
