President's Message

Dear <<First Name>>

It's been a challenging season with the disruption caused by Covid-19, but we have been fortunate to get a season completed in the circumstances. A huge thanks to everyone involved in making the season such a success. Thanks especially to our volunteer Committee members, our Coaches, Managers, parents, and players for enabling our teams and players to get on to the field and enjoy their football this season.

We particularly ask everyone to recognise the efforts of our Coaches and Managers at final matches this weekend - they have done a brilliant job and our teams could not function without them. Thank you!

Thank you to especially to everyone for your outstanding behaviour and the spirit of fair play that we have seen from all West Pymble FC teams over the season. In a season where disciplinary matters are at record numbers at the association level - no doubt impacted by Covid-19 - for our club to have the lowest number of disciplinary matters in memory is a credit to everyone at our club - players, Coaches, Managers, parents and friends. Thank you for ensuring that our club culture values based on participation, fair play and enjoyment of football, have been maintained and fostered.

One last call to all of our members to please ensure that our excellent disciplinary record is maintained for our final matches this weekend.

With most teams finishing the season this weekend, we have a final call-out to team Managers and Coaches, to recognise their teams with a Facebook post, particularly if they have not done so already this season.

Please send an email to with one or more photos and videos, and 2-3 sentences. The club's Facebook page is here; please 'Like' and follow the page to keep up to date with club events and achievements of our teams and players.

Finally, a huge THANK YOU to members whom have helped to raise $1,055.50 in donations for the Anver Pancreatic Cancer Foundation over the past two weekends, including those teams whom have played in purple to support this initiative.

These funds will support the raising of awareness, and funds for pancreatic cancer and will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all members whom donated to such a worthy cause and to Steve Hartley for organising this initiative.

Here are a number of updates of other events and activities happening around the club:

2020 Club Survey

Please visit the link to complete the WPFC 2020 Survey

Here is a
QR Code for the survey. We encourage members - Team Managers in particular - to print out this QR Code and take it to your team's matches this weekend to enable players and parents to complete the survey on their mobile phones.

Your feedback in the survey is incredibly important to us to enable us to improve how the club is run. It provides an opportunity for you to provide feedback on coaches, grading, player development initiatives including Coerver sessions, facilities, events and referees among other things.

There is a separate section for those involved in the new NSFA SAP competitions. There is also a separate section in the survey which covers the club's values, strategy and objectives - the  WPFC Committee will use your feedback to review these areas.

If you are interested in joining a Working Group involving the club's Committee Members to map out the club's Vision + Strategy, Objectives and Football Plan, please respond to this email indicating your interest.

Coerver Holiday Camps

This is a final call to members to consider enrolling in the Coerver holiday camp at Macquarie University next week, whom might be looking for some holiday fun and development of football skills. Please see further information including registration details for the camp at this link

Summer Football - Juniors

Primary Soccer is once again running small sided competitions after the end of our winter season. The competition runs from 12 October 2020 to 5 March 2021, with a holiday season break between 19 December 2020 and 31 January 2021

We are delighted to advise that there will be a Thursday night competition at Norman Griffiths Oval

This competition is customised to our junior teams and we recommend this competition for juniors wanting to play social competition football in the off-season. Further information including registration details are on their website.

Please consider the below junior-focussed summer football competitions, should the above option not be suitable for your schedules.
  • NSFA Summer Football at NTRA and Blackman synthetic fields. Visit this link for information. This is suitable for older junior age groups and junior teams whom cannot make the Primary Soccer competition at Norman Griffiths Oval on Thursday nights.
  • Chatswood Rangers summer football at Chatswood High School. This is played on a synthetic pitch; is focused on junior competition girls teams; and is suitable for girls in U12-U18 age groups, for whom girls-only competitions will be run. Visit this link for information.

Summer Football - Seniors

Men's Over 35s & 45s will once again be running their summer training at Macquarie University. This is internal training involving WPFC current and potential players. It is not a formal competition, rather a great way of keeping fit in the off-season and for new players to get back into football.

Summer training kicks off on Wednesday the 28th October 2020 at Macquarie University sports fields from 7:00-:00 PM. This runs for 22-weeks, concluding on Wednesday 31st March 2020.

Note: The only Wednesday this training will not occur, is 30 December 2020. Visit this link to register.

End of Season Dates

  • Weekend 2-5 October: Last round of matches (except for Men's Premier League, which runs until later in October).
  • Monday 19 October: Club Annual General Meeting, and end-of-season Coaches & Managers meeting.

JUST Carclean Good Sport Awards

It's that time of the week again! Here are the WPFC JUST Carclean Good Sport Awards winners for this week for the weekend of 26 & 27 September 2020. So high was the standard, that there are two winners this week for both the Junior and Senior categories.

We only have one week left for the awards, so please send in your nominations for one last time after this weekend's games.

Juniors: Aviva Campbell and Luana Fargeat
It is impossible to split these two players for the nomination. With the season drawing to its conclusion every minute of game time is precious. Our opposition were down on numbers and unable to field a team. With a very real possibility of no game at all, Aviva Campbell and Luana Fargeat both eagerly volunteered to play with the opposition, evening out the numbers and allowing a modified friendly game to be played.

The friendly game was played in great spirits and both players displayed fairness, and their competitive streaks, as they quickly gelled with their new teammates. Thanks to their efforts, players on both teams were able to enjoy another precious game this season.

Seniors: Rachel Thompson and Chelsea Sefton

Rachel and Chelsea are playing Centre Back together in the WAAC team. Both girls are very polite, encouraging and good sports. Win or lose, they always treat their teammates, opposition and the referees with respect and of course, always have a smile on their face. They also command the backline in a constructive way, and lead by example.

It was great to see the WAAC team have back-to-back wins on Sunday 27th September for their usual Sunday game, and on Thursday 1st October in their makeup game.

The dynamic duo will be back together playing for the last time, this Sunday, at Norman Griffiths Oval at 1:00 PM. The WAAC team are also hoping to score their 4th win in a row! Come down and support if you are in the area!

Aviva, Luana, Rachel & Chelsea - please send an email to email to claim your prize.

Below is the Manager’s Weekly Nomination process - keep sending those nominations in!
  • Managers are to send send their weekly nomination to by Monday evening each week.
  • Two people will be chosen each week - 1 senior and 1 junior - to win a FREE car clean!
  • Members looking to make a booking, or for more information on JUST Carclean, should refer to their website.
All the best for your matches this weekend.
