New or notable, classic or quaffable, Mike is pouring a glass of it.
Beer: The Public
Style: Pale Ale
ABV: 6%
Brewer: DC Brau
Mike Sez: There are more than 9,200 craft breweries operating in the United States today, but it wasn't always a hotbed of craft brewing. There were about 1,600 when DC Brau began operating in 2009.
One of the first beers to be released was The Public, a traditional pale ale with a solid malty character and hoppy bitterness. This beer has been a favorite of mine since I had my first one and I love when a local music venue has it available.

Conclusion: If your taste buds need a break from those citrusy IPAs, give The Public a try. Its flavor hits me like a song from the Replacements or R.E.M. in the IRS years. It takes me back to a simpler time and delivers – with a nice hoppy kick!

This week, patron, pal and excellent radio DJ Bob Peterson joined Jim and Patrick to discuss the career of Betty Davis. She was a trailblazing talent and absolutely committed to her artistic vision and integrity.
After you've listened to both episodes, spin this playlist of her songs. And keep it real, peoples!
