User Agent Switcher
As marketers and SEOs, we sometimes need to test and debug how our websites are performing or how they look to different user agents.
For example, does a website look or perform any differently with Googlebot mobile vs desktop, and how does it look with Android Oreo?
Well, there's a Chrome extension for that. I find the User-Agent Switcher for Chrome to be really useful for this.
While it is true that it is possible to do this directly in Chrome without an extension using Overrides
, as John Mueller pointed out
(thanks, John) but, there's another reason why I like using the extension.
It seems I'm not the only one either, as Dan Nutter
from Journey Further commented on LinkedIn:
Features like the ability to share user agent strings with colleagues allow for greater collaboration and often help you come to a resolution faster too.
Have a play with the User-Agent Switcher for Chrome
extension and see what you think.
