The YOUNG AFRICAN GOURMETS is a Culinary Experience that showcases the avant-garde of the Ghanaian / African cuisine. The idea is to promote a sustainable way of cooking that embraces culture, identity and diversity as much as it presents to the public a creative and esthetic way of exploring local ingredients and delicacies. Introduced in the form of a 5 course set menu and a brunch menu that will be proposed to The Mix Clientele.
4 Young Chefs are invited to take over The Mix kitchen to create their menu, supported by our kitchen team. They are incorporating FOOD OF GODS range of spices from regenerative farms & biodiverse food forests across Africa and Asia, that follow ancient cultivation practices. FOOD OF GODS can be paraphrased as simply as, the joy of sending to you all the finest ingredients from authentic farms and recognizing their provenances… The true spices’ original origin! During this experience which will end only on September 11th , we were thrilled to welcome onboard Dr Wanida Lewis Aka the food scientist. She conducted our panel discussion “ A seat at the table with...” sharing her knowledge of food, diet, sustainability, identity and about what inspired the YOUNG AFRICAN GOURMETS to create their menus, questioning their Chef journey as young African.
